If you got her when she was a puppy ten years ago she would be 10 but that all depends on how old she was when she became a member of your family. Dalmations usually live 10-12 years but many if well taken care of can live to be 15-18 years old. Take good care of her by giving her good well balanced food and go to regular vet visits to make sure she remains healthy. Good Luck

My beloved vet once told me:

1st year = 14 -18 human years
every year after that is 7 years.

So 1st year = 18 human years
9 more years = 63 human years (9X7=63)

Or, approximately 91 human years.

If she's a little stiff getting up in the morning - that's why.

I could be wrong about the years - but even if each year is 7 years, she's now 70 years old - still not a young pup.

However, with proper diet and exercise she should see you through graduating high school at least - and probably in to college.

Watch her weight - larger dogs can be prone to arthritis and the more weight she carries, the worse it gets.

Give her proper vet care. Ask your vet about ailments that older Dalmatians are prone to - what to look for, how to treat them. Discuss what nutrients an older dog requires.

If you live in a colder climate - consider a sweater for winter walks.

She may need an elevated bed if her joints are a bit creaky

Again, speak with your vet about such matters.

Best thing tho is to love her, love her, love her.

Which I am sure you're really good at. ;-)

Last I knew the current formula for dogs was the first and second year are 15 yrs each then every yr after that equals 4 yrs. So a 10 yr old dog would be 62 yrs old. Of course the bigger the dog the older it is so a Great Dane is OLD at 8 yrs and a MinPin is just starting the senior years at 10.

The formula is: 10.5 dog years per human year for the first 2 years, then 4 dog years per human year for each year after. Remember dogs reach physical and sexual maturity at about 2 human years so that is equivalent to about 21.

If you have had your girls since she was 4 and had her for 10 years, that is a good long life for a Dalmatian -- she would be about 69 in human years.
