Because everything to possibly enjoy now is a sin.

I think we should be concerned about where we spend eternity...and yes, I believe, we have some control over that....if you choose to believe in a God...etc...

However, I agree with you that so many get so wrapped up in the afterlife...that they forget to enjoy this life that God has given us. We live in a beautiful place...with majestic mountains, beautiful forests, etc... most of us have plenty to eat, people to love....and have a lot of things to be happy and joyful about...but, we only focus on the negative....I do not believe negativity is good for us..or of God.

Well....most Christians I know are NOT worried about going to heaven---or to hell. If your living a life that is right with God--there is no 'worrying'.

Now---as far as 'something I have no control over'....I do not know where you ever got that idea. Of course you have control over it!

Actually you do have control. I am a Christian and I believe God seals me with His Holy Spirit marking me as His when I confess Jesus as my Savior and repented(turned from sin). With me being sealed by the Holy Spirit my name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Anyone name that is not written in this book is going to die not just physically but spiritually for all eternity.

But serving God is not about going to hell or heaven. It is because for me personally it is a relationship with God. I have the promises of God in my life because I choose to follow Him. It is a choice. Hell is a choice, choosing not to follow means you spending eternity in hell. Like I said it is a choice and my belief.

I am a Christian and I do not worry about going to heaven. I am secure in my Faith and I do enjoy every breath that God has given me.

You should not worry what you have no control over but if you are not sure about going to heaven you do have control over that.

I do have fun and enjoy life, since when does being a christian mean that you can't have fun.

Sure i don't drink, or smoke pot or things like that, but neither do people with common sense. And if you have to be out of your mind and not in control of your body, or thoughts then how does that make it fun?

I'm not. I do enjoy as much as possible here. In fact, the Bible tells us to laugh and make a joyful noise to the Lord.

Hard to do that if you are worried about the future.

Christians, at least the saved ones, don't have anything to worry about. We just spread the good news and let those who hear know exactly how to become worry free.

But you do have control over where you go when you die. If you believe that Jesus died for you and that He is the Messiah, then you can enjoy life now and after you die!!!! You can live forever in peace and perfection!!!!

Because after this life which is just an evaporating vapor in God's eyes, we have eternity to live either with God in paradise/heaven or hell. I personally choose to suffer persecution now and be saved and live for God, versus living any ole type of way and dying and going to hell.
What if there is no hell you might think,
well, growing up my mom always told me you better be safe than sorry. I rather live life denying myself things and die and see I could have done more and that it was all made up stories/lies instead of live life doing any and everything and die and see there is a God and he is throwing me in Hell for my sins I committed on earth!
Be safe. not sorry.

But you do have control.... it is solely your choice... this mortal life lasts, at best, maybe 80-90 yrs.... eternityis a whooooool lot loooonger.... and there are only two choices as to where you will spend eternity... and one of them is very very bad.... choose wisely.....

I am of The True Christian Faith... if you have a question concerning any of the basics of all this you may email me... one honest question will receive one honest answer to the best of my ability.
