You can't miss the most important thing while you are there; visiting Florence! Pisa is a very small town where you will do the sight seing around the tower and buy some souveniers, but if you are staying there for two days, you have GOT TO see Florence, which is not so far away but taking a cab would still be expensive, so I highly encourage you to take a train- a great way to travel in europe- and it will take you directly into the center of Florence. From the train station, everything is walking distance, Il Ponte Vecchio, La Chiasa Di Santa Maria Dei Fiori, everything you see and dream about the city, you will see. Beauty of the Arno River that runs across the city will take your breath away. If you really want to be blown away, after you finish sight seing- there is a lot to see, Florence is where Renaissance was born- go up to the hill of Michelangelo where at the top there is a replica of the statue of David, and take lots of pictures of that one of a kind view of the city.
There is limited space for me to tell you more but make sure that you buy a city guide book, telling about the beauties of the city when you enter it.
Have a safe and fun trip.

Sorry to tell you, but Pisa is a bit of a tourist trap. It is, sorry to say, not an overnight destination. Rent a car and go to Florence for a day. Awesome drive and even more awesome city. Most hotels in Pisa are cheap because no one stays there. I won't waste any time telling you anything about Rome. You have been there, so you know. It's great too.

Hi,
I stayed in Rome last year but can't remember the names of the hotels I stayed at. I spent 2 nights in the City in a small hotel used mostly by Italian people. I then got the metro to Ostia and found a hotel on the beach for €40 a night. Well worth doing, you can see most of the City on foot, I don't remember queuing as I hate that. On my last day the flight was later in the evening so went to Ostia Antica for the day, it the original old port of Rome. The walls are mostly about 3 meters high and you can still see the old streets and mosaics on the floors, You can even see where the old romans used to train to fight.

Piza is beautiful and small. You will find your way around for sure and you can't miss anything, since I suppose of course you will visit the monuments' complex (cathedral, tower, camposanto, etc.).
Rome is very big and there are lots to see. You will not have so much time, so avoid queuing endless hours for the Vatican museums. better go to Transtevere, S. Maria in Cosmedin, the forum, the Colosseum, piazza di Spania and Fontana di Trevi in the evening, and don't forget the Pantheon.

Love Italy! My husband is Italian and we were even married in Verona. Sorry to say that Pisa is not an overnighter town. You can see all the sites in an hour. We had four hours and were so bored that we decided to talk to the street vendors. Better to stay extra nights in Roma or even Firenze.

It shouldnt be that difficult to find hotel rooms, when you arrive.
Lots of reasonable choices, maybe get a few locations and info and phone no. at airport etc.
