You should only put your faith in something that you have faith in.

Birth is no accident, but I can see where some would think that. Your faith is not a reliance on your parents faith or church you were raised in.
At 22 i had to decide for myself did I believe because I was taught about Jesus, or did I believe because that is what I personally believed. Faith is nothing unless you know for yourself what you actually believe in your heart. I hope you dont' really buy into harry potter.

I think you are trying to relate to unrelated things: natural birth, and spiritual birth. The Jews of Christ's day had a similar idea: they put their trust in their Abrahamic lineage, but John and Jesus burst their bubble.

"I tell you that God is able to of these stones raise up children unto Abraham. Bring forth therefore fruits (products) meet (suitable) for repentance." - John

"If Abraham were your father, you would do the things which Abraham did...you are of your father the devil." - Jesus

You should NOT put blind faith in your "holy book," for the bible teaches, "Taste and see that the Lord is good." Do those things you were taught, assuming you were raised Christian, and find out for yourself.

NO!
Although our walk through this life as Christians, assuming you are one, is by FAITH, it is NOT BLIND FAITH that we practice as Christian, but a faith based on evidence, and that being the evidence recorded in the Holy Word of God! The Bible say to try God and prove HIM to see whether the things He states in the Bible are true and worthy of our belief!
Let's look at some Scriptures to SEE what we really believe in.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Here we are told that the gift of salvation is FREE and there is NOTHING we can do for ourselves to EARN our salvation! NO amount of 'good works' in other words, can get us through those 'Pearly Gates'!

Our 'Christianity' is the only faith-based (as opposed to works-based) worldview! NO Hindu or Buddhist can claim such as this!
Christianity is God reaching out to man through the person of Jesus Christ. Our position in Jesus Christ is based, not on works, but upon our faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. 1Thessalonians 1:3 “…your work produced by faith….,”
2Thessalonians 1:3“…because your faith is growing more and more….”

Faith is synonymous with being sure: "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1). No room for blind faith here! We exercise faith when we trust in the promises of God. We have the whole of human history, to look back on,while Abraham longed to see the coming of the Messiah, but died several thousand years before the first advent of the Messiah Yeshua!!

Christian faith is not "blind faith." Blind faith is faith divorced of reason. Christian faith is faith based upon evidences: "We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty" (2 Peter 1:16). We are instructed to know these evidences (manuscript, archeological, prophetic, historical, and statistical), so that we can give thoughtful responses to those who question us about our faith: "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have" (1 Peter 3:15).

Why not? Most people blindly accept the Faith in which they are born just like me. Only a few like me raise above their indoctrination.

Sure, Harry Potter would be great, then you could hang out in the literary section and do your bashing there.

You can but Harry Potter won't give you the tools of happiness on earth and eternal life.

But you are free to do as you wish.

And by the way, I was not born Catholic.

Peace!

There's nothing wrong with having faith--it just shouldn't be blind.
