Who agrees with me? It is absolutely inconsiderate of the networks to cancel shows for low ratings!?
Does it not occur to the networks that even though the show didn't have 14,000,000 viewers nationwide it did have 9,000,000 and an ending to the storyline would have had been better than an ubrubt cancellation. New season, new shows, should I watch or should I not they might cancel after this episode!!!!!!!

No business is going to continue to invest in something that will not bring in substantial profit.

The networks cancel a show if the rating is not what is expected. Silk Stalkings and other memorable pilots were cancelled due to low ratings.

The networks have made us into a fickle and demanding public, we want more variety and less predictability.

Networks make money by selling commercial time during television programs. When a show has high ratings, they can sell advertising time at a higher price. Companies won't want to pay as much to advertise if they know there aren't many people watching. Therefore, if a show isn't doing well in the ratings, that probably also means it isn't bringing in enough advertising money, and the network may cancel it and put something else in its place.

I don't agree because like everyone else, the people who run networks have a job to do and a family to pay and if they don't get the eyes on their channel they don't make the bottom line. There's a whole formula to this and it's actually pretty fair, even if you don't like it. Only in house productions get canned anyways, things they pay to bring in they get their money's worth out of.

Inconsiderate? No. They put a lot of thought into these decissions, they have lots of people think this over before you even hear about it.

Annoying? Can be if you don't understand the process.

I hate that. force have been given 5.6 million visitors and it nonetheless have been given canceled. It replaced into in basic terms on its fourth episode and its long previous. Fox might desire to have least finished the season or some thing. same with finished Savages and life as all of us comprehend it. If the show isn't stable sufficient, it extremely is down the drain.

It's not that simple. Network leaders are pigs, I'm sure, but they are running a business nonetheless. If a show doesn't show promise, they cancel it not because they are mean (not directly at least) but because they can't risk putting all that money into a faulty show. They also have to clear that time slot to see if other shows they have will be appreciated by the television audience.

I understand your frustration, but unfortunately it's all business to them. If shows aren't getting a certain amount of viewers, networks don't want to invest the time and money into them. It's a sad reality.
