I keep seeing these silly "prove God exists!" and "prove that God doesn't exist!" questions and statements.

When I think one little step further than that, I could search for a reason to believe in a god. But, besides the no proof thingy, I also always fail to find any reason to believe in any gods.

But I might miss something. Can you give me one single reason that would show me that it might be useful for me to believe in your particular god or gods?

What I get from 'my' God is the understanding that all people have value and that our purpose is to serve mankind - all of mankind but in particular those whose rights are being infringed upon by whatever majority has deemed them unworthy.

My God thinks all people are worthy of love, respect, freedom and rights. He expects us to live our faith, not preach it. He really doesn't care how we perceive him and would not create a place of eternal suffering for those who disagree.

In caring for all people we also must, naturally, care for the planet that we live on.

All in all what you get from my God is inner peace and self respect knowing that you are doing good for the people and planet that He created. Not in the Creationist sense but in the sense that He is responsible for all that we have learned through science (including, of course, evolution).

Of course you could just live that way without believing in God, and that's perfectly OK as well :)

Well, being agnostic - I can't say that I can give you a reason to believe in my god/s (as I have none because I don't know if god/s exists), but I can say that being agnostic means that you are always keeping your mind open and looking for ways to grow and learn.

I suppose it would be best to say tha agnosticism is a way of critical and logical thinking more than anything else. However, you don't need to be agnostic to learn that.

No, sweetie, belief is very personal. There is no proof one way or the other of the existence of God.

I believe that we all worship the same God. There are many roads to God and He does not care which road you take. Or if you take no road for that matter.

Just go with what makes sense to you.

I believe in the flying spaghetti monster.

If you do not convert immediately, your soul will be melted into the warm tomato sauce and roasted on brimstone meatballs.

That's pretty much the best reason that religions give today. Aside from the whole cult indoctrination "your life will be changed forever" thing.

My god freshens breath, whitens teeth, removes lipstick from my collar, and tells me bedtime stories. That's why I beLIEve in my god. Ha ha. I see your point though, it's an age old question with no answer that comes from concrete proof. There's more circumstantial evidence that god doesn't exsist. That's enough for me. You too.

Ask the God you want to find and look and listen for a response. You might be surprised.

I get tired of those questions too.
hope
one day, you might be in a nursing home.
All your loved ones are dead.
You have no one to visit you.
You got a bed sore eating down to your bone.
You say to yourself, someone kill me now.
No one answers.
Then you hear a voice in your heart.
It says don't worry child, your time is near.
You cry over and over.
You start to pray for your suffering to end.
You start praising God with words of joy.
Before you know it, you don't care about all the sorrow in you.
Then you die.
Its over.
A new beginning.
A time for renewal.
The end, but not 'THE END'
God Bless
