You should fire her and the only explanation that you should give is that you aren't happy with the level of care she is giving you. It's important that you and your therapist have a connection. You want someone who genuinely seems concerned about your well being, not someone who is doing a "job". Most therapists will let you you meet for a free, short consultation before agreeing to be your care provider. You should ask for that when you are looking for your new therapist. Good luck to you.

Get a NEW THERAPIST!!!
Seriously, not all therapists are the same. You might have to go through a few before you find a good fit.
If this is a VA assigned Therapist, you can request another be assigned as you just don't feel comfortable with her.
It could also be that she's concerned about WHY you were discharged from the service. Was it that you simply fulfilled your contract or was there another reason you were discharged?
The reason for your discharge may have something to do with why she's focusing on your not being assimilated to civilian life yet.

She is not the right therapist for you. Go to your primary care doc, let him/her know you need a referral for a new therapist. If he/she is aware of your circumstances, they could help you find a therapist who's the right fit for you. You shouldn't be feeling frustrated by your experience, it should be helping you. If a hair stylist gave you a poor haircut, would you go back? No! Get a new therapist soon. You'll feel so much better once you do.

Baby, you need a new therapist! Look for one that specializes in treatment of sexual assault victims.
She may also have a point about the job - you may need to let go of some of that anger. I know you hate him - she knows you hate him - but that anger/hatred (justified as it is) may be holding you back.
You didn't ask to be raped. You can't change the fact that some jerk assaulted you. You can only live the rest of your life and it's your choice as to whether you want to do that with anger and bitterness or not.

Ask your therapist what that has to do with your emotional issues. You do have the right to question their responses as well. If he/she cannot explain to your satisfaction why dwelling on your getting a new job will alleviate your emotional distress over your situation, then you should consider a new therapist. You will never get anywhere with a therapist you can't communicate with.

You should tell her she's fired, and find a therapist who's actually interested in the issues you're struggling with.
That's what we told the therapist who recommended I get an abortion when I was 16...

Tell her you'd like to focus on your feelings towards your ex boyfriend. If she doesn't do it......get a new therapist.

It is not important for you to explain your hatred. It is important for you to get over it or deal with it. It shounds like you are stuck on the problem and the therapist wants you to focus on the solution.
