My Female Neapolitan Mastiff Lab Mix is 6 months old and weighs 63 lbs. Does anyone have any idea if she is going to stay at about this same weight and size? or will she be 120 + lbs like the vet said? How much more growing does she have to do?

FYI "Pam" If you even read the post, you would have realized that she's not a pure bread dog, and there was no breeder, and it's pretty hard to find out things about a breed that isnt "Standard". Next time, pay a little more attention.

She is only 6 month listen to your vet she will get much bigger. Mastiff are one of the largest dog breeds. I just love them!! Too big for me I already have an Akita who is 4 1/2 months and he weight 52 pounds!! Your dog has much growing left to do!! As below make ssure she dose not get fat becuase it could lead to hip problems later in life and a good quality pet food is a must too. Good Luck!!

If she tops out at 120 you are lucky! When you get a mixed breed and need to consider size, always err on the side of the larger breed. Do not fall in the trap of "it will be smaller" because you may be in for a big shock. I met a Mastiff at a children's event over the weekend who weighs 220 and is still growing-he is 18 months! The dog was as big as the pony that was there. Listen to the vet. And the bigger the dog the longer it takes to mature-sad because they have such a short life span.

Neapolitian Mastiffs are extra large dogs and take up to 2 years to reach their full size. They are usually as tall as they will get by 1-1.5 years and "fill out" thereafter. 120 lbs is an average weight, females, by AKC standards, have an average weight of 110 lbs, although heavier than that is preferred. She should get to, on average, between 24-29 inches tall.

Unfortunately, because she is a mixed breed with two very differently sized parents, it is difficult to tell how big she will grow. She could grow as big as a Neapolitan or as small as a lab or somewhere inbetween. That's the consequence of mixed breeding I'm afraid - you cannot be sure what you will get.

Dogs don't usually stop growing until they're about a year old. So she sounds to be about halfway to what your vet has said. Another 6 months and she'll be around the size your vet says she will be.
Good luck with a mastiff though. They love trying to be lapdogs!

One rule of Thumb is that at 7 months of age the dog is 70% of their adult weight. But large breed dogs mature More slowly that small breeds. It is likely that she will top the 100 lb. mark.

if you are looking for size proportions look at Harry potter movies. Fang (Hagrid's dog) is a Neapolitan Mastiff.
