I am looking to increase my income thru higher education. I live paycheck to paycheck and desire financial independence. I believe studies in risk management, insurance and finance will open a world of opportunities. I have googled grants in many different aspects...... only to be flooded with a variety of options. I am looking for an absolute resource that is in place thru the government for women like me. If you have any information regarding solid grant options for education, business and/or real estate investments for african american women or women in general, please forward me your information. Thanks for any help you may lend to the matter?

Best regards,
Shannon W.

The best place to get a grant for your college education is by completing the FASFA form. It will tap into need based financial aid from the state and federal governments along with the college itself. I recommennd waiting a year before returning to school to get the most in government grants because you most likely passed your state's financial aid deadline. The amount awarded is based on a percentage of your income and savings along with your number of dependents. I also recommend checking with your company's human resource office because some places do offer a tuition reimbursement plan. Good luck!

I agree that some human beings take earnings of the actuality that the government aspects generously for youthful single mothers and fathers and that i agree entire hearterly that they is not any excuse for unplanned pregnancies ( In my single days i became rather promiscuious and continually took precautions and not as quickly as had an 'incident' the place i could desire to of been pregnant.) I do think of that there are exceptions to this and each from time to time blunders ensue (quite in the case the place birth control has no longer worked and so on.) Jeremy Kyle makes use of extreame circumstances, it has to to maintain ppl staring at, I agree that there are different ideas obtainable and it truly is a shame that people who do no longer morally have confidence in abortion did no longer have such the two solid emotions approximately slumbering with somebody with out applying birth control. women do no longer recognize how fortunate they're to have the rights they have on the instant. women died in the technique of scuffling with for those rights to grant women a decision in those circumstances. There are no excuses aside from that of birth control no longer working properly. the only undertaking i will assert is that single mothers frequently make astonishing mothers and that they shouldnt be judged only on there marital status. after all the considerable undertaking is the welfare of their babies. Sorry if it truly is a conflicting message yet is your question an attack on single mothers and fathers if so - in the event that they a doing their superb for there babies enable them to be. Or whether it truly is a case which you dont understand the quantity of unplanned pregnancies in this u . s . - wherein case i thoroughly agree!

Grants are federal, state and instituitonal NEED based aid. Most rely on the FAFSA to determine eligibility. I can tell you that race is not included on the FAFSA...not anywhere...and that is not the basis for awarding grants.

Because grants are based on NEED, and not other criteria regardles of race or gender, if you have financial need, you will be eligible for NEED based aid.

Sorry...I just hate that people think only minorities and women are eligible for financial aid.

There are grants available for single parents. Go to the financial aid office at your local college.
