Jesus died for the sin of all mankind.
The Bible says, that we have all sinned and fallen short of God's standard.
God sent His Son Jesus, who was sinless, (the sacrifice had to be sinless), to take the punishment of your sin and mine. Jesus suffered not only physically, but emotionally too! He knew what it was for that time to feel alone, He took our sins and our sorrows and He made them His very own.
Jesus made a way, where there was no way, to reconcile us to God. Our sin separates us from God, who is Holy.
To answer your final question, God did not have sex with Mary, Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Read this account in Matthew's Gospel.
You might think from a logical perspective, and say 'How can that be?' You accept this by faith, realising that God is infinite, and we are finite creatures. If you believe that God created the world by faith, then it is possible to believe the rest of the Bible, by faith.
Your welcome to come back to me by email if I have not explained this clearly enough.

from His point of view, He did go willfully to the cross, from the people's point of view, they nailed him and killed him. He did actually die, unlike what some claim. He did it for you if you accept that feat by Him so you can live with your creator forever. You gotta take this by faith, which works. Bible was never proven wrong and many of its predictions and propheses are coming to life today, so you can apply leasons from all of it for life, based on Jesus's commandments. Dude, don't pervert the Bible. Where did you hear about Mary having sex with anyone before Jesus was born? It was a miracle, and it can't be explained scientifically. That doesn't mean it's false. God, having power over everything, done it through the Holy spirit placing a seed into Mary's womb because she was found righteous and right with God to bear the child who would later die for the sins of those who will accept him and follow Him.

Jesus died because in Deuteronomy 13 God told the Jews that if a prophet comes and does great wonders (miracles) and says let us worship gods the Jews don't know, Gods says don't listen to them. Its a test. To see if you love god with all your heart and soul. And god even says to kill him. So no matter how you try to boil it down teachings of Jesus, and the "holy spirit" as god, or part of god is completely foreign to what god taught the Jews. And god demanded the death of the false prophet.

Because in the old testament people had to make a sacrifice for their sins. The prophecies foretold of a king would become the sacrificial lamb who took away the sins of the world. Jesus' death fulfilled the prophecy, the people killed him but he had the power to stop them if he chose to. Jesus' death was the sacrificial lamb to take away the sins and the need for us to make continuous sacrifices over and over.

Jesus' death was a selfless death. It did not take away the sins of the world but showed us what ultimate love for everyone is. He was willing to die for what he taught (which was love) and he died selflessly. That doesn't take away the sins of the world, that just proves he was selfless and loving.
Mary and Joseph had Jesus the way everyone else has kids. It wasn't through God. Mary had a virginal spirit, she was not actually a virgin when Jesus was conceived.

Question #one million: Jesus was once no longer God. God, Jesus' Father, can't die, he has no opening, no finish. Question #two: God Almighty, the one real God raised Jesus from loss of life. Question #three: The ransom was once paid for Adam's sin and lack of perfection. God might no longer be a ransom as he isn't human. It was once his Son who, as a human on the planet, ransomed us along with his ultimate blood. Question #four: God did not die, the fee was once totally paid by way of Jesus Christ, his Son who gave his existence on the planet to supply all mankind wish of everlasting existence. There isn't any thriller, that is handy to appreciate and comfortably proved with scripture. It's no longer the convoluted morass trinitarians insist it's.

There is no one answer to this question from a Christian perspective. There are lots of historical creeds specifying "orthodox" Christian views on who Jesus was, the Trinity, and other subjects. But there is no one view of Jesus' death and "how it worked". A popular view among Evangelicals today is known as "penal substitution". It teaches that God said sin must be punished, and so then he had no choice but to do so, and to save us he punished Jesus instead. That this makes God unjust and has little basis in the Bible is missed by most of those who uphold this view.
From a historical viewpoint, this was an attempt of the early Christians to make sense of this unexpected and seemingly inexplicable event. Why would God have his Messiah die? It surely could not have taken God by surprise, they would have assumed. So it must have a purpose. And there was already present in Judaism the idea of martyrs' deaths having atoning value (see 4 Maccabees, and the Rabbinic traditions about the binding of Isaac or the "Akedah"). They used this as a foundation for offering an interpretation of Jesus' death as sacrifice - but of course, there was no single clear explanation of what a sacrifice did or how it worked, and so this metaphor emphasized that this event had meaning, but did not thoroughly explain it.

They killed Jesus because He spoke the truth and they couldn't stand it. It threatened them. The point is that, because He spoke the truth, and because of the actions of the Scribes and Pharisees, and the complacency of the Romans, Jesus died. Because He is the Son of God, He could have stopped it. After all, He said, "Do you suppose I could not call down legions of angels to deliver Me?"
Why was His death and resurrection necessary? In the Old Testament, some sins were only able to be absolved through the shedding of blood, "The man who sheds innocent blood, let his own blood be shed." Since man is imperfect, it was an imperfect absolution. Since Jesus is perfec,t His Blood was all that was needed to cover our sins for all time, as long as we acknowledge Him and receive Him as our Lord and Savior.
As to the conception of Jesus in Miriam's (Mary's) womb, it is also explained in Scripture. God is the One who created us all. It is a simple case for Him, through the Holy Spirit, to place His essence, if you will, in a woman's egg and cause it grow as a human being. Since He is God, He is quite capable of doing it without the "benefit" of physical intimacy, as we know it.
Miriam considered this an honor, as she fully believed in God and anxiously awaited the coming of the Messiah. She was His choice to be the mother of Jesus, and she considered it an honor without measure.

He was the Son of God ( don't know how Mary was pregnated and I don't proport to attempt an explanation).
Jesus had power to give up His life and take it again. He died, and conquered death for us all and was resurrected so that we all can now be resurrected at judgement day. He died for our sins so we could again someday be in the presence of the Father.

Immaculate conception isnt a new one. Its scattered all through Pagan beliefs. Read up on Athena.
According to Christian beliefs she was magically I mean miraculously just pregnant one day. Hence the Immaculate Conception part.
He died for your sins because God demanded a blood sacrifice. Give me all the thumbs down you all want but when its boiled down that is exactly it. And he didn't even really die for your sins because there are a whole lot of rules that go with it. The main one being complete and blind obediance.
Some people find comfort in all of that which is great for them. It always just creeped me out.
