If you really are religious.... You shouldn't need proof there isn't a God... since you don't need proof that there is one.

I am agnostic but I call a spade a spade. You can't demand proof when faith is supposed to be the factor that decides someone's religion.

I could give you a million reasons to doubt the Christian religion but for a Christian, it doesn't matter because of faith. I think most Atheists doubt religion because they see the inconsistencies in the literature and figure that none of the religions have any sense of what a higher being is... therefore there is no higher being.

I tend to shy away from there being a total lack of a higher being. I'm just pretty darn sure that nobody writing a book on earth has any idea what that higher being/beings is all about.

I really, reallly think that there is such a thing as an atheist, but I can't prove that there isn't a God any more than you can prove that aliens didn't land in my backyard last night.

An atheist is not necessarily a person who can prove that God doesn't exist, just as a religious person is not necessarily a person who can prove that God does exist.

There are many different kinds of atheists, but an atheist is usually defined as someone without a belief in God. It is possible to not believe in God without being able to prove she doesn't exist.

It is similar to some people who do not believe in evolution, even though they cannot prove that it doesn't happen.

The burden of proof rests on those who make the claim.

There is no proof that there is a God. Can you provide me with some? All religions are related to common human psychology, including the invention of culture.

Religions do not look to empirical observation of reality. They make up myths and try to preserve them against competing religions. More recently, they have developed "faith" as an excuse to believe in something supernatural, because science has disproved all creation myths made up by religion (including Genesis).

So give me your proof. People believe in god for emotional reasons, and emotional reasons alone. You can't disprove anything that doesn't exist by 100%, but "faith" that means your god is as likely to be real as Allah or Zeus or any of the other thousands of oppressive myths. What makes one religion special? Somebody told them it was, and claimed that faith is a virtue.

You can hobble back to the cave of unreason whenever you feel like it.

P.S. I am also completely in favor of freedom of religion. Live and let live. But if a person is going to ask silly question on YA, then I am going to answer them.

Do you really think there is such a thing as Christians? If you think you are one, then prove to me there is a god.

I cannot prove to you that there isn't a god, but everything I know about this world, and all common sense and reason point to the fact that there isn't a god. Its like the light in my refrigerator. When I close the door the light turns off. But since I am not in the fridge I have no proof that it goes off, but all common sense and reason tell me that when I close the fridge door the light goes off. If some one can give me proof that the light stays on then so be it but other wise, Ill stick to believing the light turns off.

I am OVER this question. Prove to me there is a God. For something to be real, there has to be a verified source that it has been seen, felt, whatever. The Bible is not an accurate source, but a compilation on hearsay documents from men that came along long before and after the death of Jesus.

I got a better one....prove to me there was. And I don't mean show me the bible. That thing was the best fiction book written for that time. Tell me why it is that god would let HALF the crap go on in the world if he exsisted. Tell me WHY god allows child abusers. Molestors. Rapists. Murderers. Liars. Cheaters. Stealers. Yea your god rocks. He allows all the bad things to just keep happening.

Sweetie, as I'm sure you will find out eventually, you cannot prove a negative

Let me say that again - you cannot prove a negative... about anything.

One more time ...you cannot prove a negative... about anything.

I hope you are at least intelligent enough to understand that concept

If you like I could list a few million, yes, a few million examples

There are many atheists who embrace a non-deity philosophy. It revved up in the 1800's by a French Baron and it still widely accepted today. As to myself, I am a Christian and multitudinous reasons for believing in God.
