Wow. That is a heavy question; it is also one which can hardly be answered in a short post.
Many people fall into the religion of their parents. Others choose a religion that "feels good" to them. One that "works" for them. They like the music. They like the social club. They like the lack of discipline. They like the tradition, the beautiful buildings, the pomp and circumstance, the beautiful official clothing, so forth and so on.
Since worship is so serious - I mean, according to God, it's a matter of life and death - shouldn't our way of worship be pleasing to Him and not to us?
Having said that, the Bible shows how the people in the first century learned how to worship God. Their example should be imitated. And their example - in its entirety - is found in the Bible.
But simply put, one's religion ought to be in full harmony with what is taught in God's word the Bible - not just here and there - but everywhere.

I'm not sure of the difference between the various churches but Christianity and the Jewish beliefs are significant. You can't believe that Jesus was the Son of God and had come from heaven for the forgiveness of sins. To the Jewish people the Christ has not yet come, for Christians Christ has come and paid the price of our sins in full through his blood.

there is no best religion or one that is more true than the others. There is just the spiritual path that each person is supposed to walk. Everyone has their own path, which includes different religions and denominations.
You dont have to be born jewish to become jewish, although most are.
I would just suggest researching the different places and seeing what is best in line with what you believe and go from there. Go and try out different places and see where you feel comfortable.

You will note in christendom, most religions are the same.
They all believe the trinity, hell-fire, immortal soul, use of images, etc.
All those beliefs are UN-Biblical.
Truth is, Jesus said the religion preaching the truth would be a relatively small group.
"Broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it, whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it". Matthew 7:13
"Few are the ones finding it".
Find a relatively small group that do not teach the above mentioned doctrines and you might be onto something.

Church's can offer different types of services, and each is different. You need to visit the churches and then you decide which preaching, or teaching, or music that you feel the most Blessed in...
Christians have many different practices. I believe the Holy Bible by King James I, is the most Holy writing for the English

Try a Catholic Church. I know I'm going to get a lot of thumbs-down for this because I'm being direct, but try Catholicism. It's the most reasonable and logical.

Research as much as you can about the doctrine of all of them. I'm not Christian but my personal favorites are the Methodists. They are a very open Christian Denomination. I love the drama of Catholism and I like the acceptance of the Unitarians. Just depends on what you are looking for. Go and try them all out!

All in all there is not too much difference in the major religions. If you take out the people and look at the message you will find that they are pretty much the same. Cheers
