Strange, they worship the same God (by different names) but think their way is the right one, I don't think God would approve.

there is absolutely no reason why he should not have been allowed to go, but unfortunately there are still some people in this world who have closed minds, who don't know how to change or simply just don't want to.

yes you are right we should be tolerant to all religions, or non, after all this is a personal choice. How can the world be a different place when our children - our future are being ingrained intolerance at such an early stage of their lives?

Some parents are ignorant and this can be held up for nearly all religions. There is no religious reason for the boy not to have gone to a Synagogue abiding that he was not required to participate in an act of worship.

There is nothing in islam that says you cannot go to a synagogue. I am guessing it was his/her parents personal thoughts and opinions on the idea. I am a muslim and I go to synagogues on certain events and occasions and I take my children. I want my kids to know about all three of the Abrahamic religions. It is a must in Islam. I am sure that it is the parents personal opinion and thoughts on the subject.

Well yeah, probably the parents didn't allow it. Never forget that a teacher is a proxy parent and that the child's upbringing is still the responsibility of the actual parents.

I don't see the harm in it myself, but I'm not a muslim.

when I was a nipper I attended a Church of England school, and every now and then we had to go to sit in a church and get bored. The Muslims and the Sikhs had to go, but the Catholics got let off and allowed home. At the time I thought it must be great to be Catholic and never have to go to church.

Im agnostic as well..... i like it that way.

Well im guessing its because Muslims are told to hate Jews... that's a fact.... so there is no point as in his blinkered up bringing he would be told not to go.

Look at weweew quoting half a ton of shite.... does he think by posting that rubbish that someone is going to suddenly become a Muslim... lol... lol so sad.

What type of Synagogue? I know that the Chabad and Orthodox (The super duper Jews) are very leery towards Muslims, mostly on religious doctrine, and won't allow them into their synagogues. Christians are tolerable, but not by much.

im Muslim myself
i think its important for us too learn and tolerate other religions..
i think its stupid of his parents not too allow him to visit Synagogue, not like he is going to all of sudden go home and declare hes converting too Judaism!
in Islam non-muslims are always welcome in Mosque's as long as they show respect, when visiting...
maybe you could introduce me to the boy's parents soo i could give them a good talking too!!

Islam got no respect for Jews and he would have performed a Jihad on the synagogoue and you would have gone with him, sharing 21 virgins bounty. Thank God you lived to tell your story. You could compose a song or even doing a book followed by a film. Its a cash cow, go for it....... and let me know when "shooting starts"

thank you for the early morning snicker.....right here is one for you in return. Rumsfeld is giving the President his on an popular basis briefing. He concludes with the help of asserting: "the day gone by, 3 Brazilian squaddies have been killed in Iraq". "OH NO!", the President exclaims. "it is poor". His team take a seat greatly surprised at this exhibit of emotion, nervously watching by way of fact the President sits, head in palms, rocking forwards and backwards. ultimately the President seems up and asks... "what number is a brazillion?"
