The death of my parents when I was in my teens did strengthen my faith, but it certainly didn't make me convert, as I was brought up in the Church since infancy. I suppose I became a bit more "devout" after these events, as I turned to God for answers. But it's not like I had a sudden burst of piousness and then abandoned it. During any crisis, like the death of my stepfather or the deaths of my brothers, I try to be mindful of God, who is the source of my strength. But it's not like I plan to forget about Him in times of peace. He's not just my God during a crisis, after all.

I am not Chistian but i am devotee of Krishna. I want to try to answer your question.
First at all, you must understan what are we. We are not matter, we are not these bodies, we are pure spirit soul. The body / soul distinction is immediately understood by the statement, ‘my body’. By this assertion we distinguish our true person from our physical being. We do not say, ‘I body’. Similarly, ‘I mind’ and ‘I intelligence’ are equally incorrect. The soul is the true self, the subject of self-awareness, and the ultimate agent of thinking and feeling. This agent is free and responsible, unlike matter that can make no moral choices but only follow deterministic patterns. Therefore, personal identity is not jeopardised when memories, thoughts and other products of the mind are altered, or even lost, by change our material consciousness by become devout to God. The soul has his own personal idintity and is separated from God. In actuality our personal being is lost, in the present moment by missidentification ourselves whith these temporary material bodies, material mind and material intelligence.. When we become really devout to the personal Supreme being, we regain our true identity by taken our real constsitutional position as eternal servant of God, Krishna.

You can read in my profile some of what I've experienced. It was not the crises I've been through that made made me devout--I've been a Christian for most of my life. Losses, tragedy, crises etc only show you how strong your faith is and how faithful God is when you trust Him.

no, I didnt. I am not anymore, because I am not pentecostal or fundementalist anymore, but that came from personal growth. When I got into all of that, I was just really into the church. I was going a lot and it just seemed like the next step I was supposed to take. There were a few issues in my life, but there are always issues in everyones life, it wasnt anything tragic or anything like this.

No, I didn't hit rock bottom and there was no tragedy in my life when I became born again. Actually, my life was pretty good at the time.

what you are is trying to get more testimonies to edit and use against The Faith... you are not the first to use this tactic here... most all are nearly identically phrased... you should try to be more original.
