Needless to say I was quite flabbergasted when I read this:
"The Holy Prepuce, or Holy Foreskin (Latin præputium or prepucium) is one of several relics attributed to Jesus. At various points in history. Various miraculous powers have been ascribed to it.
The relic was originally said to have been given to Pope Leo III on December 25, 800 by Charlemagne on the occasion of his coronation; he in turn is said to have claimed that it had been brought to him by an angel while he prayed at the Holy Sepulcher (although another version of the story says it was a wedding gift from the Byzantine Empress Irene). The Pope placed it into the Sancta Sanctorum in the Lateran basilica in Rome with other relics.
Apart from its physical importance as a relic, the Holy Foreskin is sometimes claimed to have appeared in a famous vision of Saint Catherine of Siena. In the vision, Jesus mystically marries her, and his amputated foreskin is given to her as a wedding ring."
All I can say is...wow!

If one believes in the bodily resurrection of Jesus, then the foreskin is the only relic that he'd have left on Earth. There was a time when there was a very robust trade in (frequently stolen) bits and pieces of saints' corpses (some of those saints would've had to have 25 fingers to account for all the ones that people claimed belonged to them), and there are several bits of skin reported to be Jesus's foreskin, too. Do a bit of reading on the medieval cults of the saints and you'll find all kinds of stuff like this. It's kind of awesome, in a hilarious sort of way.

Holy Cow could be a assertion approximately Hindu ideals yet I doubt it. I doubt if i've got ever eaten a holy hamburger, yet some tainted with Salmonella could get you closer to God's place! Hindus do have faith livestock are sacred, so I think of in some places the place there's a great Indian inhabitants, it could desire to be seen 'politically incorrect' as a results of fact it could make exciting of a perception. starting to be up in St. Louis, the place Harry Caray, replaced into Cardinal Baseball announcer, later the properly conventional Chicago Cubs announcer, and he used that as his seize word in the 50's and 60's and on, it replaced into very elementary right here. all and sundry looked as though it could mimic "HO-LY COW! And utilizing holy with that's purely loopy. It purely would not make experience.

Ah, the trade in relics is still around though perhaps reduced from its heyday, when there were "enough pieces of the true cross to build Noah's Ark" and saint's bones rustling was far from unheard-of.
There are currently 514 items found for "relic" in "Religions, Spirituality" on eBay.

Wow..wondered what they smoked that day. And do you know how many "relics" there are? Seriously. They used to give away saint's blood and bones as "relics" and stuff like that. It was all animal blood and animal bones.
