He was actually given a death sentence, I read Helter Skelter.
Then, because of appeal after appeal, the California State Penal code DROPPED capital punishment, making death penalty illegal.
He actually comes up for parole and Sharon Tate's family is responsible for keeping him there. Otherwise the freakazoid would be out planning his next massacre.
He has spent all but 11 years of his life in institutions or prisons. The guy was a sick child and unable to be rehabilitated.
No excuse why he's not dead. If he gets out someone else will be.

Yeah, the old fart is still alive. I can not for the life of me figure out how a guy who only stands 5' 3" and weighs 140 pounds could be the product of so many peoples nightmares and fears for so long. I would have shoved his Helter Skelter straight up his ***.

This country needs all states death row. We taxes prayer play for them to live in prison . I read most murders and animal abusers are on the streets to make room for pot dealers.

because it's the law that the prison protects him from himself and others, has access to medical, vision & dental care, receives 3 nutritious meals, clothes on his back , bed and pillow to rest his little head on.
not to mention recreational time/equipment and visiting time with family, friends and lawyers( at times, state provided if the inmate is poor)
why is he still alive? the cops didn't shoot the no good piece of crap when they had the chance and the hug-a-thugs got the death penality abolished during a time that affected his sentence.
not sure what cal. laws are though but where i live we have the death sentence and i support it!!!

Because he received the death penalty prior to 1972 when all death sentences were deemed unconstitutional according to the Supreme Court of the United States and all death sentences were commuted to life in prison.

Not sure how the law in California works when it comes to handing down the death penalty, but keep in mind that Charles Manson did not actually commit the murders, but ordered his followers to do it. That may have something to do with it.....
