I'm REALLY getting tired of these random ignorant people who voice their ignorant opinions about how the Bible is false and Christians only believe in it to make themselves feel better. Can anyone on planet earth get a clue. The funny thing is, the Bible says this is going to happen, that people are going to be clueless, and blame us for expressing our love for God, blame us for being conceited, blame us for being narrow minded, blame us for thinking objectively etc., which are all false. We are Christians because we are GRATEFUL THAT JESUS DIED FOR OUR SINS and have enough sense to realize the truth. We are not selfish. And we don't try to convert for selfish gain. The ones who do hold the responsibility to, and care enough, to share the truth and spread the Word so that others don't go to Hell for eternity, are the true believers. And they are selfless. Like me. But I'm tired of putting in time and energy into helping other people only to have it thrown in my face about how I'm trying to convert them for my selfish reasons. The funniest thing in the world to me is how everyone judges you when you talk about Christianity. Not religion, Christianity. The one true religion. People who try to convert others are not conceited, they just realize that others need to know that Jesus is our savior, and if they don't believe He is, then they'll go to Hell for eternity, I don't want that to happen to anyone, so I try to convert. NOT for my own selfish agenda? LOL Not enough True Christians stick up for themselves. Meanwhile too many ignorant people run rampant spreading their ignorant voices onto other people who depend on others to speak and tell them how to think for themselves. I'm so glad I have an independent brain that I use to support independent thoughts. Weird, scary, funny etc. how no one reads the Bible and targets themselves to meaningless ignorant information from others.

Don't mistake passion for ranting...
It is ok to call people out and say they are foolish. More examples of how people really don't have a clue. The Bible is my life guide, I could have been more "nice" going about saying this, but are you fragile? I found the Bible through independent thinking........I was raised an atheist. But please continue bashing me.

Lol...and the other way...the big bang theory is emperical thinking right? LOL, they are both faith based. And to be honest, it requires more faith to believe in the Big bang than anything else.

Hey - guess what?
God doesn't exist.
By the way, I know "Christians" don't understand what "contradiction" means, but for the rest of us, it's kind of amusing when you say "The Bible says this, the Bible says that," and then finish with "I'm so glad I have an independent brain that I use to support independent thoughts."

The word you used the most in this question/opinion is your own answer to your question. "Ignorance". People do not know and do not care know anymore. They were raised on false assumptions and beliefs and have chose to think as they have been told. They are either incapable or just have no desire to think independently and search for the truth. People like you can reach out and help others to think with more than a one track mind. But remember they have to be willing to take your hand. Don't give up. It is not your job to preach a sermon to save all souls. Just to be help the ones you know you can.

You are so deluded you imagine yourself to be perfectly sane. Both my parents were infected by the same mental virus that is currently destroying your sanity and I know that nothing I can say will ever change your mind. Have you started speaking in tongues and rolling on the floor yet? When an airplane flies over your house, do you see a flying crucifix? Has Jesus begun whispering secret messages in your ear? Do you imagine the world is awash in sin and only you and your fellow believers can save it? If you were to visit a psychiatrist, he could prescribe anti-psychotic medications, or electro-convulsive-therapy that would completely change your world-view. Now I ask you, if you could take a drug and it made your extreme religiosity all but disappear, wouldn't it be a giant clue that what you feel exists only in your head? The truth is God is a mental construct that exists only on paper and in the minds of true-believers. The Bible is merely an anthology of the prejudices and superstitions of our bronze age ancestors. I am sorry to admit that this posting will do nothing to dissuade you from destroying your own mind with irrational mystical thinking. The truth is you're nothing but a self-destructive junkie who is hooked on Jesus.

MM, we do not actual recognize what's occurred. Guessing isn't genuine and is why they are theories. Scientists have proved evolution would not exist. yet many imagine it does. the tremendous Bang theory has been shown no longer to were the starting up of life, if it occurred in any respect. the quantity of issues shown previous doubt by utilising scientists (meaning something with out any exceptions) compared to the quantity of issues shall we ask, would have one of those vast quantity of decimal places earlier it all started on a % scale that it does no longer also be said. those who be counted on God will say that each and everything starts off with 100% of solutions yet others omit out in this because they could't be bothered to be certain for themselves.

I'll just take the one point:
"how no one reads the Bible"
You'll find plenty of ex-Christian atheists here who know their bibles well. In many cases it was the careful study of the bible which led to them questioning the assertions (NOT settled truths, except from one particular perspective) of the bible and of Christendom.
That you do not distinguish between your personal conviction and objective truth for everyone doesn't help your case.
If sincere conviction equals truth, there are a lot of contradictory truths doing the rounds out there.

I love the Lord and I agree that people need to know the Savior before it's too late. However, I have to say even as a pentecostal Christian your ranting here turns me off. My goodness that is certainly not the attitude God wants us to have. Your, in all honesty, being very judgemental not to mention rude by calling peole names. That doesnt' set a very good example. I am not perfect all of the time and I get angry just like everyone else does but you can't expect to win others for the Lord if you call them names. I'm sure i've made you mad and offended you so please forgive me but that's not very christian like.

Buddy, I'm thrilled you're a Christian, but this kind of thing does NOT help us! Many of us on Y!A who are Christians work very hard to reach out to people. (Yes, I know -- I also get grouchy on occasion, and I do apologize...)
Soapbox rants like this not only are a violation of the Guidelines (it's not even a real question), but wildly unhelpful. All it does is vent and blow your stack, without providing any evidences or reasons to believe. Whining about what other people post, and calling people names, are not viable forms of outreach...
See quotation below...
"DON'Ts:
1. Use Yahoo! Answers as a soapbox to vent your frustrations, rant, or otherwise violate the question and answer format. If you prefer to have discussions or chat with others, please use one of Yahoo!'s other community services ..."

This is how you convert? You're not very good at it are you?
How many other One True Religions do you think are out there? Have you sampled any of the others, before you made your decision? Or are you just believing what you're told?

A great many people don't believe in God expressly because they read the Bible all the way through.

Until you provide empirical evidence of a god or gods, I will continue to state the obvious.
And yes, I read the bible. Many times.
