we yawn as it is the bodies way of getting more oxygen to the brain,to make us feel more livey.
When we yawn we take in air slowly and deeply and then breathe out.

Because you're not taking in enough oxygen. You usually yawn when you are tired because you don't breathe as deeply as it takes more effort, so you yawn to get more oxygen.
