one of the latest claims i've been hearing lately is that to believe in historical events that are recorded and detailed in history book requires a certain amount of faith. but is believing in what is written in history books the same kind of faith as believing in the supernatural events detailed in the bible? you can't really claim it's the same thing and expect to be taken seriously, can you? that'd be like me saying my great grandfather could fly. that would take much more faith than me saying my great grandfather had a wooden leg because he lost one during world war 1. so why are so many fundamentalists trying to confuse the two?

ali, to say "just" evolved really simplifies things tremendously. it's not as if evolution occured over a few minutes. we're talking millions of years. so evolution didn't "just" happen.

Each person goes through their own ways of finding the "truth". My "truth" may be different than yours, but that does not make my "truth" invalid.

I think your on the right track. The Faith that you need to have to believe that the war between the states and the Bible is a different level of faith. But to say evolution takes less faith then the Bible, well that is not true. It takes a lot of faith to believe that we just came into existence. That we just evolved . Its alot easier for me to believe that we were made for a purpose and everything is not just by faith. Theirs a differnence between fundamental and true christians. Christians are not perfect either though thats why we believe we need a saviour that was and is still perfect. Keep searching. Romans 8:38-39

Be skeptical about everything, even what I'm writing here. I was raised by cowboys and their creed was, "Don't believe anything you read or hear and only half of what you see!" They were good moral people who stayed happy and out of trouble. I think they had as good a chance of getting to heaven, if there is a heaven, as anybody.

I actually have a pic of my drunk granddaddy showing off his wooden leg but I understand what you are saying..
But look..I have seen wooden legs, I have seen people get flying lessons but I have never seen God nor felt God so after years of searching etc. I have determined that God is not real
