If a woman has no desire to be pregnant should she be a mother?

If you don't have the "warm and fuzzies" should you be a mom?

Your last few questions were about adoption.
Now you don't feel like being a mother.

Being a parent is about loving and raising a child. It isn't about how the child came to be part of your family. If you cannot open your heart to a child then don't get pregnant and certainly don't adopt a child.

Women go through so many hormonal changes, it would be unfair to say they shouldn't have one.
I'm 36 weeks and I don't feel like a Mom yet (I was surprised when my husband brought me a Mother's Day card). I don't feel warm and fuzzy. I don't feel maternal.
I think I will once the baby is born...for now, he just feels like a rolly polly in my belly, not a "baby" in the way we think of babies.
But I am excited at the idea and the thought of being a Mom.

This are very different questions.
Lot's of women, for a bunch of reasons, don't want to be pregnant so they adopt. That's perfectly acceptable and even a good thing to do.
As far as not being maternal, then I think you should wait. As you get older, you change, your life changes--you may change your mind.
Obviously if you are asking these questions, you are hesitant. Becoming a mom should be a choice when you are 100% sure because you can't take it back and lives are at stake.

Maternal instincts really come in time..not every women is born with them. Some women just love lids. Theirs, yours, the person down the street. Other people love their own kids and love other kids but from a distance..you know. Depends on the person.

Your probably not asking this question about yourself because if you were you would know if you wanted a baby or not and if your asking because someone you know is pregnant but doesn't feel maternal mind your own bussiness

every woman is different, some don't ever want kids, some love their kids but hate everyone elses, and some just can't get enough. If you REALLY don't ever want kids, don't even try. Its unfair to whatever kids you may have. Get an IUD and find a partner who feels the same way.

the hormones of pregnancy and birth tend to make you feel warm and fuzzy even if you weren't before.

just because you're not warm & FUZZY DOESN'T MEAN YOU'D BE A BAD PARENT.

sorry- caps lock.

if you don't WANT to be a mother, don't.
