errrrr ... cause he is not God and he was not on the cross either, Sorry to burst your bubble.
The Messiah Jesus son of Mary is a Messenger of God and His Word and is not dead and never died on the cross. It was made to appear to the Children of Israel. He will return to Earth at the appointed time and tell us about the Truth and the Whole Truth AGAIN! and Mankind will reject him again .... and then we will feel the Wrath of God, so fear that time when the Messiah returns and do bot hasten it on. Mankind is doing everything it can to hasten it on, but will come when God wants it to come.

It says in Phillipians 2:5-7
The attitude you should have is the one that Christ Jesus had:
He always had the nature of God, but he did not thing that by force he should try to remain equal with God. Instead of this, of his own free will he gave up all he had, and took the nature of a servant. He bacame like man and appeared in human likeness.
Jesus never asked for help on the cross. Like he said in Matthew Chapter 26,
"Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?"
God is Triunity
The father sent the son. It was the word (Jesus) that came into a human body not the father.
John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
And if you think that Jesus is not God,
Deuteronomy 5:12
"Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy, as I, the Lord your God have commanded you."
And Jesus said
Matthew 12:6-8
"I tell you that there is something here greater than the Temple. The scripture says, 'It is kindness that I want, not animal sacrifices.' If you really knew what this means, you would not condemn people who are not guilty; for the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

Sigh, this question is getting really old. Use the search function next time, and you will find loads of answers.
The short answer is that Jesus had to demonstrate that he was fully human. Otherwise people would claim that God doesn't know what we have to go through. Also, if Jesus wasn't fully human, then he could not have suffered and died for the sins of all of humanity, because he would not have been an acceptable substitute.

In Luke 23:34 Jesus refurs to God the Father as "Father."
God is 3 in 1: God the Father (the creator), God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit (the comforter).

You flaw by grouping all christians together on this question.
Jesus is the Son of God. They are two different entities. Jesus is Jehovah of the Old Testament, and therefore the God of the Old Testament, but as Adam and Eve introduced sin into the world, our Heavenly Father could no longer be in human presence. Therefore Christ is our mediator with the Father. This is how He prayed to His Father in Heaven.

Thats right... He only calls Himself the "son of man" It's because Jesus knew that there is no way to be one with G-d if there is no humility. This was also an example to the rest of us to also be humble, just as He was if we want to be perfect just as the Father is perfect. Because even if a person could be completely and perfectly righteous, if you are not humble before G-d, than all of your perfection and righteousness is worthless and is sin.

He actually said "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" He was quoting Psalm 22, and thus this may have indicated trust in God rather than despair (see how the psalm ends). But your point remains valid. He is clearly praying to God and not thinking of himself as God.
Note how the Gospel of John, which is the only Gospel that depicts Jesus as God incarnate, changes what he says on the cross (and a lot of other things too).

There are about a thousand denominations of Christianity the world over and each has an interpretation of the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus is not God, by his recorded words...."Father, why have you foresaken me?" ....belies the truth. He was the son of God sent to bring hope and redemption to the world....and that he did..... abundantly. Looking at Christianity in even broader terms, all of us are sons and daughters of God. Did you not ever hear it said when someone creates something...."It is my brainchild."

Good point. Jesus never said he was God. However, he DID say that he was the Son of God.
But the point you make about him not being God the Father is significant. Who was he talking to when he prayed on the Cross and elsewhere? Was God talking to him, or was he talking to himself? Also, what of the occasions where God's voice is heard from Heaven, declaring "this is my beloved Son"? I can't get anyone to answer this for me.

God is like Rama, Krsna and Shiva, a triune godhead. Jesus was but the avatar of YHWH, therefore God and Man.
You can't really trust the Gospels. They are notorious for misrepresenting what really happened. The only way to know the truth is the trust the holy word of the Pope.

I think you can easily click into any website which provides explanation on Trinity or the Triune God the Christians believe. You will get the answer why Jesus asked God to help him if he does at all.
