most doctors give anti depressant medicine and painkillers for this condition. I think you have to try and many different things to find what works for you. For some people chiropractic treatment is wonderful, others prefer acupuncture, I prefer deep Tissue massage therapy for pain relief.

I have written an article on Fibromyalgia, which is too large to post here. I've enclosed a link were you can read more about this and it also gives information on treatments you can do for yourself.

Medication for fibromyalgia runs from simple pain killers like acetominophen to the stronger drugs like Vicodin. One of the newer treatments is an SSRI - Cymbalta. Used for the treatment of depression, it also alleviates some of the fibro pain is many of its users. Treatment usually concentrates on reducing symptoms and improving function. No one treatment method can control all symptoms.

Various treatment modalities, both traditional and complementary are listed here, along with excellent pictures of where trigger points are located:

There may not be such thing as fibromyalgia. Our parents called it rheumatism.
Try ibuprofen etc, but staying active is good: exercise.
