"God" gave me a book telling me to shut up and obey.

"Science" gave me the Internet. And antibiotics. And my motorcycle. And a career choice. And pizza delivery. And satellite radio. And athroscopic surgery. And anti-triglycerides medication. And x-rays. And EEGs. And a means to make sure knowledge I get from other people isn't just someone's belief as to what's true. And hot and cold running water. And a really wonderful working sewage system. And pretty much everything I use every day, knowingly and unknowingly.

Instructions to be submissive or stuff like the Internet. You did it. I'm convinced to convert. Lock me in chains, give me a lobotomy, and slap duct tape on my mouth.

Science kept me alive. I was two months premature and weighed under 4 lbs. This was back in the day when many babies that small didn't survive, or were blind or developmentally disabled. Thanks to a good doctor and a university teaching center hospital, I survived, and am completely healthy.
What makes you think science and God are mutually exclusive? From a religious point of view, all science comes from God, because it all comes from brains created by him.

Science? For starters, automobles, coffee makers, microwaves, computers, Electric lights, cell phones,

God? Salvation, freedom, mercy, love, forgiveness.

Yep God's done a lot more of things of lasting value but your question only gives rocks to non believers to throw at you. Why do you ask such foolish things.

Stupid question, since if it were not for science you would not be writing this on a computer, plugged into a wall socket providing electricity...

As for all that God does for people each day, people in the time the Bible was written barely made ends meet and frequently starved. Now we pray for daily bread but high-tech farming techniques, hi-tech shipping and lots of other things that are due to science get our daily bread to us.

Instead of asking stupid questions, why not let a bit of science, knowledge, information and rational thought give your beliefs some substance?

Well, because of science, I didn't have to suffer from measles, mumps, I didn't die from smallpox, I wasn't crippled by polio, and I didn't get tetanus when I cut my foot on a rusty piece of metal.

Because of science I have electricity, air conditioning, I can wash my clothes with a machine instead of going down to the river and beating them against rocks.

Oh, and I'm also able to be here on the internet.

Any other stupid questions?

Saved by daughter's life when she was 8 months old and dehydrated from stomach flu.

Funny thing is, we never doubted - we KNEW that after being plugged on a solution for 24 hours she would be just fine. Having demonstrable evidence kinda does that to you.

For starters, God created science; they are not in opposition one with the other. He put all the rules by which the universe functions in place. Then he placed man on earth in the universe He created. Man failed, so God provided man with salvation, and for that I am thankful.

It built my computer, it built my car, the ambulance I hear in the background right now, It makes my medicines, it makes my food, it makes my eyeglasses, it makes my light bulbs, my telephone, television, my stereo, the roads and bridges I drive on, the elevators I ride in, my tools, it built my freezer, washing machine lawn mower, the tools my doctors use to save my life, the furnace that keeps my house warm, plus the air conditioner, the chemicals, soaps etc. I use in my daily life. God, on the other hand, um well, let me think, ...

CONSIDER THAT YOU USE SCIENCE EVERYDAY OF YOUR LIFE. UNLESS YOU'RE LIVING IN A HOLE IN THE GROUND SOMEWHERE, YOU ARE USING AND ABUSING SCIENCE FOR YOUR OWN NEEDS EVERY SINGLE DAY OF YOUR LIFE. WHEN YOU FLIP A LIGHT SWITCH, GO TO THE FRIDGE FOR A BITE, HOP IN YOUR CAR FOR A RIDE, OR BICYCLE, OR SKATEBOARD, WHEN YOU GO TO THE DR, WHEN THAT DR SAVES YOUR LIFE. SCIENCE IS EVERYWHERE AND IS USED EVERYWHERE BY EVERYONE.
