Jesus is Lord, Jesus is the son of God, Jesus is God. In the beginning all three existed in one, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Genesis...let us make man in our own image). So there was God (Old testament) He created Adam, Adam feel so in order to restore man unto Himself, He sent is son Jesus (God wrapped in flesh), after the resurrection of Jesus, God sent the Holy Spirt, His Spirit to dwell in us as a comforter. All three portions of the trinity have very distinct characteristics and purposes, but do not function outside of themselves. For instance, God is the creator, He is the Father, the author and the finisher of our faith, He is the beginning and the End, He is Soverign. Jesus, is the Word, he is the breath of God at work, He is the reconcilor of man unto God. If you do not believe in the Jesus and the ultimate sacrifice (His own life) for your sins, then you cannot be reconciled to the Father. Jesus, there power in His name because He is the Living Word. The Holy Spirit is living and active in us today. The Holy Spirit is the manifestion of the trinity. So, even though they are the same , 3 in 1, they have different roles and characteristics, that is why there is a distinction.

Because God branches out and God even called Jesus the Branch.

The Bible says God is spirit and a consuming fire. This must be the greatest energy ever known because His glory is described as undescribable and evidently man can't live in His presence. Therefore, we can only see God when we see Jesus who is God but a watered down version. The same with the Holy Spirit in us which is God's spirit but a watered down version.

The terms "Father, Son, Holy Spirit" are metaphors. Parables if you will to the different roles of the Trinity. As for the Trinity being the same and yet different...well, I'm sure you've heard all the metaphors before.
The only thing I can think to tell you is I believe it's either amazingly simple, like three beings in perfect sync, or another level of thinking beyond us.

The trinity is incorrect, and easily seen to be so.

I am Jehovah, and there is none else; besides me there is no God. Isaiah 45:5 (ASV),

Mark 10:19 (DRC) And Jesus said to him, Why callest thou me good? None is good but one, that is God. (DRC)

John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time: the only begotten Son who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

I Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

I Peter 3: 22 . . . Jesus Christ. 22Who is on the right hand of God, swallowing down death, that we might be made heirs of life everlasting: being gone into heaven, the angels and powers and virtues being made subject to him.
