Already viewed it its exciting to watch the news reels from world war two. I already had the Military records I needed but its nice to see them do this for others for awhile anyway. I did find one good record though my great uncle was killed in the Korean War and we always figured in was buried in south korea. But it turns out he was reburied in Hawaii at the Nation Cemetery of the Pacific in 1956 no one in the family seemed to remember that happening so now I just need to get the photo of the burial and I will probably go ahead and send for his military records we already knew alot but I'm thinking its time to tack it down.

They photograph the records, so if there are mistakes, the mistakes were made by the military, not by Ancestry.com. Sometimes if there is a mistake in a name or a date, you can use that information to clear up discrepancies that occur in later records. So it's all useful, even the mistakes.

The freebie time gives you a good glimpse of what you can find there. I found a draft card on my great grandfather from 1910 where he lists a middle name that nobody ever heard of. It was also cool to see pictures of my grandfather's Navy ship all in one place. (Ranger, CV-4)

It's only free until June 6, then you have to pay for it. But I looked at my father's information and they have a lot of it wrong. I don't know where they're getting their information, but I DO know that he wasn't 906 pounds, which is what their information says.

I have already been into it today! :) It's pretty awesome.

I can't find the entries for service men who weren't in a conflict. :(

If anyone has a link to the search that will allow me to search for men who served after WWII ended but before Korea, please let me know. Thanks! :)
