I would love my wifes doctor to tell her not to speak, but heck that won't happen.

The people that you should be asking is your parents and your doctor. No one here can answer your questions.

If you're not to speak it'll be to rest your vocal cords. It's more likely for kids to damage their vocal cords because you are still developing and are soft (in the same way you're more likely to damage your feet with ill fitting shoes). Just trust your mum & doc & if you're still worried in a couple of days then speak up.

Wanted to add that just because you're a child doesn't mean you don't have rights, if you ask your doc outright what is wrong with you it'd be wrong (or unethical) of him not to answer you truthfully.

Modern physicians are not allowed to withhold information from even a minor. Oftentimes, patients leave after a visit to their physician with many questions unanswered. Simply phone your physician's nurse and ask away. Please do not worry. But, whatever is the problem, try to follow your physician's recommendations and relax. Whatever the problem is, you will get better sooner if you are not stressing yourself, OK? Hope you're feeling better soon.

Do you have a sore throat? If so you need to rest your vocal cords. Ask mom right out to explain why you can't talk for a few days. Good luck!

??. Humm. I don't know. Do u have laryngitis? I know that causes for people to have difficulty speaking up, and its best not to in that case.

Not sure what else. Lol. I'd ask about that.

That's strange. Do a little bit of research on WebMD.
