I shower daily and have tried every deodorant/antiperspirant known to man. I even tried men's deodorant/antiperspirant. I have went to the doctor and have had blood tests done. Nothing is wrong with me. This problem started 3 years ago and it will not go away. It is stronger when I am nervous, which is like all the time now bcuz I don't want others to smell me. I don't eat garlic or onions, have went on fast, tried natural deodorants, etc. I have read up on a medical condition called TMAU, but I do not have this. What should I do? It is making me so depressed bcuz I can't go anywhere. I do not leave the house at all now a days.

crzygrl, PLEASE READ ALL IF YOU CAN - I have the EXACT same problem as you. My problem started 7 years ago. I have like you have tried just about EVERYTHING! I also totally avoid going out. My husband takes care of all the grocery shopping and any errands that involve being around or near people. I do all the indoor errands such as laundry, cooking, washing dishes etc. Plus I work from home part-time as a callcenter rep. to be able to help my hubby pay the bills and it's the only thing that keeps me sane. By the way, my hubby says he doesn't notice any odor at all. But other people, stangers do though. Some have even made very rude comments about my b.o. loud enuf for me to hear and all people around me too. Makes me feel so ashamed, angry, and helpless at the same time. I just got some health insurance and will be going to see a doctor for severe anxiety that I now have as a result of having the persistent b.o.. In the meantime, I've started taking liquid chlorophyll becuz I'm almost 100% sure the odor is coming from inside of me. I can't tell if it's working yet or not. The real test will of course be when I get the courage to try and go to a public place again - which hopefully the anti-anxiety medicine I plan to ask the doctor for will give me that courage. If you would like any information at all such as the part-time call center job I have please contact me. I have you listed as one of my contacts here on Yahoo answers. Maybe we can help each other find a solution to this devastating problem.

I know where you are coming from. Have you tried any of the prescription anti-perspirants from the doctor? They can prescribe a very strong solution to help combat excessive sweating, ask at your local chemist or pharmacy as they also do a solution that helps stop the bacteria growing on your skin, this will help stop the BO problem. I suffer badly with excessive sweating under my right arm and it is a constant worry. Recently I started using Driclor, it has helped a little bit but it can take a couple of weeks to see a difference. I found this for you:

Help from the chemist

You can get an antibacterial and antiseptic solution called chlorhexidine 0.05% solution from pharmacies. Applied daily, it significantly reduces the number of bacteria, although it has no effect on sweating itself.

Another remedy you can get without a prescription is 20% aluminium chloride solution, otherwise known as Anhydrol Forte and Driclor.

You apply to it your armpits, feet etc before you go to bed each night. This is because sweating stops when you sleep, so the solution will be more effective.

The liquid gets into the openings of the sweat glands causing them to swell up and block.

You wash it off in the morning, and don't reapply until the next bedtime.

Never apply the solution after shaving because it will irritate the skin.

You use the product every night to start with, and then reduce it as you stop sweating to every other night or once or twice a week.

Mix equal amounts of baking soda and baby powder. Use a powder puff to use this as a deodorant just by powdering your arm pits. The odor will get better day by day.

BUT, in the meantime I would check into what a previous poster said about chemical imbalance. Also, you need to drink lots and I mean lots of water to help you sweat and get those smelly toxins out.

Good luck.

Is it because you are sweating or is it just body odor? If it because you are sweating your doctor should prescribe you a anti per or deodorant that should control this. If it is body odor it could be a chemical imbalance that it causing it. You could also try shower to shower powder this helps neutralize odors.

I have heard that people with smelly feet have tried soaking them in a regular tea, and that it has actually taken the odor away. Maybe you could try that, just by putting it in your tub. My great grandmother is the one who told me about it.If nothing else it would be worth the try. Also, I saw on a site that you could drink a glass of sage tea daily. The sight is carefair.com/skincare. Hope this helps!

An undesirable scent can also be caused by zinc deficiency, liver disease, diabetes or gastrointestinal disorders that lead to poor or incomplete digestion, according to the researchers. A health care provider should rule out these possible causes.

Try some nice smelling perfumed powder like Pleasures by Estee Lauder. It will help you to smell nice all day. Powder keeps you dry and fresh. Or, reapply deodorant during the day.
