I know that the French pulled out and not long afterwards the USA went in; but was it totally, 100% American war or did other countries play a part, no matter how minor?

Thanks!

South Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines all fought against the communists. South Korea had around 5000 dead, Australia 512 and New Zealand 37 presumably indicative of the size of their forces - nowhere even close to the 58 thousand US dead.

Australia also served, as did the now defunct state of the Republic of Vietnam (which was South Vietnam)
