As you probably know, three o'clock is The Hour of Mercy. Most people think of this as 3pm. However I get woken up alot during the 3am hour, and I feel as though I am supposed to pray The Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

Some nights I find myself saying, "Oh Jesus, but I'm sooooo tired." And then on those nights, I end up tossing and turning and can't fall back asleep until I pray the Chaplet. You'd think I would have learned by now and just take the 8 minutes and pray. It's such an amazing, beautiful and powerful prayer, I should be thanking God when I am awake at that hour.

Does this happen to any of you here?

Well yes I have been experiencing this on and off for about three years now and I came to the conclusion that Jesus wanted me to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

I have come back to this post again after several hours just to inform you that I have contacted several friends regarding this and three of them have said that they too have started to experience this phenomena.

I usually fall asleep praying the Divine Mercy. I do wake up often in the 3 o'clock hour...but it's never occurred to me that it was purposeful in any way...but usually I go back to sleep praying, but not always the Divine Mercy.

But, in general, it has been pressing on me that it's important to pray this chaplet...that all who know of it should be praying it daily.

I'm really glad to know that others are being similarly called...I think that the way our world is now, this prayer can help save lost souls.

The people who think of this as the 3 pm hour are correct. The Hour of Mercy is at 3 pm because Jesus died at 3 pm.

3 am is something completely different. If you believe such things, 3 am is sometimes considered the hour of highest activity for satan/demons/etc in a mockery of the hour of mercy (and no, thats not from The Exorcism of Emily Rose). In a coincidence, more people die at 3 am than at any other time of day.

I don't know why you feel the need to pray the Chaplet at this time, but judging by the time, it DEFINITELY CAN'T HURT.

I love the Divine Mercy Chaplet. So cool! I'm 14 and I want to be a priest. I pray the chaplet on EWTN too! Bless Saint Faustina!

I do every morning. . . 3:00am I am up and wide awake.

I used to fight it and would not be able to get back to sleep. I heard about this on Relevant Radio. Drew Mariani had a guest talking about it. That night, I woke up, said the prayer and fell back asleep. I did this for a week with the same results.

The next week I didn't do it, and was kept awake all night. One night I didn't say the prayer, until later - fell asleep right after.

I feel that God is calling those of us for some reason. I don't know what reason, but who am I to argue with God?

Just say the chaplet and it's right back to la, la land even before you get to finish sometimes.

God is good!

Actually, I can't say that I have, unless I have to pee. It's never really occurred to me that Jesus was waking me up. I'll have to try to remember this since it's about that time that I have to pee for the first time that night. Do you have to pray the Chaplet, though? Can't you just thank Jesus for what he's done? I'm not going to pray somebody else's prayer for 8 minutes at 3 o' clock in the morning.

It's called insomnia, and the prayer bores you until you're tired enough to get back to sleep. You toss and turn because you've trained yourself to feel guilty if you do not pray when you wake up.

I guarantee you lay there awake thinking "I should've prayed... I should've prayed... maybe i should pray... why didn't i pray? god won't let me sleep unless i pray".... Don't you think it's kind of petty? Of all the important things that need to be taken care of in this universe god ignores everything & wakes YOU up at 3am so you can pray that he'll let you go back to sleep?! It sounds a bit preposterous if you ask me.

and to answer your question, no... it doesn't happen to me... but then, i don't pray.... I sleep peacefully & soundly almost every night of every week of every month of every year. Does that mean god has earned enough respect for me that he lets me sleep? or does that mean he just ignores me because i'm a "lost cause" ??

Honestly, I sleep way to hard.

But you are correct we should pray every day and thank God for giving us another day to enjoy on this earth.

Peace and God Bless!
