I wouldn't assume. I'd ask to which god you refer, as there are so many.

Living in the bible belt, I'd assume you meant the christian god because that's all I ever hear about. I realize that's an issue, and I shouldn't assume....but I always do.

I would assume you're talking about God, plain and simple. I'm a Deist so I see that the names we use are merely names, but the God is one for all. :-)

whichever one you believe in.

i always assume, when spoken generally as "god", that the speaker means his/her god that s/he believes in, unless stated otherwise.

i'm Deist, so i think a "god" is likely...but, who really knows? nobody.
