Its speculation of course, but it would not bother me. It would however, bother some belief systems that stress the purity of Jesus and Mary, his mother.

The big deal is:
1. It is not historical. There is no credible evidence to support it, so if non-factual stories are being passed around about the person that Christians believe is the Son of God, then it is only logical that this would engender a response.
2. The DaVinci Code (in a totally not-original way, and using non credible evidence) denies the resurrection of Christ, which is the event upon which all of Christanity stands or falls (Please read 1 Corinthians 15). Needless to say, if you are implying that someone's entire understanding of reality is false, then it is reasonable to for that to engender a response.
One caveat is that the Christian response to that should be respectful but firm...

It is no question that Jesus was a Jew and a Jewish man of his age being unmarried was very unusual for his time. The question is about faith, would an extraordinary man be though of any less because he was legally married and had a child? Modern man as in us, has put Jesus on a pedestal and forbid a perfect man from being a perfect husband and father.
This comes from someone who took two years of seminary classes. My belief is that Jesus was an regular person that perform remarkable things. Faith in ones own self is a powerful thing, maybe Jesus was able to bring that to the masses.
Some people forget that the Bible was written by man and not handed down from Heaven. Man wrote the Bible to bring order to the world among turmoil that was very prominent during those days.

Considering that He was Jewish, it would have been expected of Jesus to marry and have children back then. Some people think it would make Him appear more as a human being, and less the Son of God. Other people don't really think it makes much difference.
The Bible mentions little about the life of Jesus between His birth and His death. Some people think that things were purposely cut out regarding His teenage and adult years--while others don't give it a thought.

well..they do it because they are not faithfull....if you would believe in God and if you were aware of his existence ..you were aware that Jesus being the Son of God was also a God as an eternal condition..only sent on the Earth. through a common birth like any man...but with and exception..He was born of Blessed Virgin...He wasn't conceived by a man and a woman...and this shows His divine origine..also..
so although Jesus is only Son of God ..He is also a God..part of the Holly Trinity who made the world..but only God The Father makes people with his breath..So ..Jesus being a God..it is outrageous to say that he had sex, maried and had kids..it is like in the greek mithology...and it is a sin..to say such a thing..God is God..there is a big diference between God and man..God and the beings made by Him...Big difference..it is a blasphemy to say Jesus married..and had kids..

If you really read the words of Christ you will see that His only driving force was to do His Father`s will and He burned with this desire, after fulfilling this on the cross He went back to the Father and will return again at the end of the age, it would not have been very fair to have left behind a Wife and children.
Jesus was much too compassionate to do such a thing.

I suppose that even if Jesus had been a husband and a father, it wouldn't have mattered as far as His status as Son of God.
But it's a moot point because we know that He wasn't married and had no children. There's no evidence, not even the slightest, that He did.
Recall in the Gospels, that Jesus gently challenged those who were capable of forsaking marriage for the sake of the Kingdom, should strive to do it. He wasn't requiring it, but He was suggesting it for those who were capable.
This is not something He would have done, if He weren't doing it Himself! Jesus was definitely not a "do as I say, not as I do" kind of guy. He always backed up His teachings with deeds and examples.
His encouragement of holy celibacy was no different.

Its funny, isn't it, how some people have difficulties accepting anything that isn't directly laid out in scripture .... but the same people willingly accept the idea of the trinity and the rapture?
If Jesus was married and had a child, this wouldn't change who he is. Obviously, his child would have been targeted by the Romans ... so that could explain why his disciples didn't record the event.
Being married and having a family isn't sinful in the least. It doesn't make Jesus any less divine and it doesn't change his sacrifice. So its not really blasphemous to entertain the idea.

Because my dear ignorant friend.....he came for Mystery Doctrine......the Church is His Bride. Believers are His Body
and the Bride of Christ. He came as Deity to fulfill His Fathers plan. It goes against His Deity! Plus, Mary of Magadela was one of the eye witness who saw him, followed Him and He cast out 7 demons that were in her. She was
not a prostitute as history has mistakenly slandered her. She
was at the foot of the cross when He died and she was the
first to see Him when He arose. She loved Him with a pure
love, NOT sexual, something people today can't conceive of
because men's minds are evil.

All the theologists are quaking with fear at being exposed as frauds. Just like they try to keep legitimate scientific facts out of the public domain now even religious doctrine is fair game. Which it has always been censored and screened and if you are paying attention you would realize it.
Religion is a game, just like politics.
