IF GOD:
cannot be seen face to face, yet you see him and even talk to him
is incorporeal, yet he exists somehow
is eternal, yet you say that all things imply a creator
is omnipresent, yet elusive for us feeble mortals
is omniscient and omnipotent, yet Adam and Eve managed to hide from him
created the universe and the world in a poof, but we haven't witnessed any of his POF creations lately (like a new continent or a huge new planet)
created Adam from mud and Eve from a rib, yet you have no proof
CAN do WHATEVER he can think of, yet he CANNOT lie, destroy himself, fail, sin, make mistakes
was never created, yet again, existence implies creation
has always been there, yet (same as above)
will never die, yet has feelings that are necessary to survive (like envy, anger, grief and shame)
will bring the good ones to heaven and send the bad ones to hell, yet no two religions agree on who is who
etc....
How do you think all these contradictions make for a believable deity?

And, why do you so vehemently reject plausible alternate explanations backed up by irrefutable proof and data, and by plausible theories, while you hold your beliefs to an ages old book that has been overwritten and overmodifed for thousands of years in order to suit the current ruler's needs?

You didn't mention that God is loving and merciful....yet he threw Adam & Eve to the wolves over fruit, drowned the whole world in Noah's flood, sabatoged the tower of Babel, slaughtered the firstborn of Egypt, led Moses and company in circles for 40 years before ordering them commit genocide in Canaan.

Not that I think anything I say will cause you to be more objective or contemplative about the person and character of God, however, I will answer as best I can since you're calling me out.
!. A personal relationship with God is spiritual and personal; seeing him face to face is a figure of speech. Jesus said blessed are those who believe and don't see him.
2. God is incorporeal (immaterial) - First I would like to point out that Monism is a belief system-that is the belief that everything is made up of material or mind. That's why some religions believe rocks are the same essence as humans. God has revealed himself to be Spirit and Life so to believe that he doesn't exist because He is immaterial is part of your subjective opinion. If you believe all that exists is material, energy, space, time and chance then this materialistic presupposition has no room for a God of supernatural attributes. However, that is a subjective opinion and not a fact
3. Eternal- This attribute doesn't imply a Creator but an attribute you would suspect the Creator has since He exists in and out of the space-time continuum as we know it.
4. Omnipresent- This another attribute of a spiritual being that can function in multiple dimensions and God has revealed this quality about himself in the Bible.
5. Omniscient- God would be all knowing since He created everything and established all the parameters for functional purposes. God speaks to us with human characteristics (anthropomorphic) so that we can understand and relate to him. He didn't need to call Adam but because He has a relationship with Adam calling him will draw out the newly developed sin problem.
6. Witnessing new proves of creation- The fact that we don't gives more credibility to the Creation that is. God never said He was going to keep creating except in the miraculous birth and growth processes we see on Earth daily. The creation is the stage set for the human drama and what a grand stage it is.
7. Created from mud- We are carbon/H2O based life forms. There is no scientific explanation for the vital life force that comes to inanimate matter.
8. Can do whatever- Well, God is not an Ego, He does nothing outside of His character and plan. There are limitations in that because of the holiness or goodness of His being He cannot do evil. He created free beings with the potential to do good and honor Him but the same characteristic that can bring Him the most honor can also bring the most evil and dishonor and this lies in our freewill choice.
9. Bring good ones to heaven- Faith pleases God, people who live by faith are going to be rejected in this materialistic world with its antisupernaturalist presuppostions. People who live by faith engage the other dimension of reality. Faith opens a door for other dimensional experience and as we daily act in faith our allegiance to God grows and when God really answers prayer it is awesome and not coincidental. So it would follow that those who follow after God would receive a heavenly reward and the faithless would be quarantined in a place where they prefer apart from Gods presence.
10. Religions- The biggest obstacle to a pure faith and a relationship with God is religion. You may think that anyone expressing any faith is religious but true Christianity is living in relationship with God through Jesus. Jesus is the focal point of it all. Religions all have some sort of meritorious effort to be cleansed or to avoid suffering in life but Christianity has the forgiveness of sin and the removal so that our free choices after the removal of sin will be more God honoring. God loves saving sinners! The greater the forgiveness the more the love! So check out the words of Jesus and His lifestyle because no one was more anti-religion then Him.
Everyone's a philosopher, examine your presuppositions, it is not illogical to believe that we came from an infinite-personal-creator. Some think we are products of a cosmic accident in an impersonal universe but I think you'll find this position is least logical to conclude though many hold to it.
May your lights be green and your lines be short.

God creates miracles every day but has finished creating the earth. How do you know He hasn't created new planet in far away galaxies? He grieves for those in pain of every kind. You nor anyone else knows where he worst of the worst go but even they can go to heaven if they only ask forgiveness. I see Him in a newborns face, in a flower opening, in a beautiful sunset.
Have you ever had that little voice in your head telling you to go and check on something and found it was a good thing you did? that was His messengers telling you of a problem.
God is everywhere and is called by many names - Buddha, Great Spirit, Alla and may others but belief is what ties you to the Eternal Being,

I don't know. Most of those "contradictions" have nothing to do with God.
1) I don't know anyone who has claimed to see God, though I'm not sure why line of sight is required for communication. There are plenty of examples that disprove this assertion with humanity's own limited means.
2) Who says God's incorporeal?
3) Yes, it's a hard concept to grasp, isn't it? It also points to the possibility that there is more to God than we understand. Another shocking concept.
4) See 3 above. Or are you suggesting that we feeble mortals have all the answers?
5) Adam and Eve didn't manage to hide. They tried to hide and God called them out to account for their actions. This in no ways says anything about God other than that He is patient with the foolish antics of mortals.
6) What a moronic statement. The inifiniteness of the universe and all its creations are still overwhelming us every day as we continue to discover new things, including planets.
7) Yes, we all know that the Bible is all literal, and there are no symbols or parables anywhere in it. Good point.
8) This is poor logic at best. On the same level as "If God is omnipotent, can He create a rock too heavy for Him to lift?" It's moronic on its face.
9) There is a difference between creation and evolution. Look into it. We ourselves are on an eternal path of progression, and though we have existed forever, we continue to change. Do you think God is so different?
10) See 9 above. I don't need to spell out the implications for you, do I?
11) This has more to do with man's interpretations of God rather than the nature of God.
I see no contradictions.

I actually considered addressing every one of your points individually, but you aren't really interested and it would take up way too much space ... people would probably view my incredibly long answer as "copy and paste" and give me a thumbs-down anyway.
We, as humans, can't really conceive of God. We impress the things that we see and know onto God. Its like when a science-fiction author designs an alien. Its possible that there is extra-terrestrial life out there, but it most likely wouldn't look anything like us. However, most pictures of "aliens" have been humanized or animalized to look like something the artist has already seen.
Many of your contradictions raise good points, and the simplest answer I have is that all of these things certainly can't be indicative of God's true nature. That's why I focus more on my personal experience with God than I do on the descriptions of him that other people have written down. True, my own experiences are most likely flawed and biased as well ... but at least they are CONSISTENT with each other.

Sounds like your questions are filled with contradictions.
I don't say those things, nor do I believe them.
I believe each question should be taken in context to when they are revealed in the Scriptures.
To just place them together as you have done is oxymoronic and assumes false presuppositions against a fact of their being proved individually.
And you forgot one...
"Can God created a rock too heavy that He can't lift?"
Or how about this one...
"How many angels can dance on a head of a pin?"
However, I will answer you, but not the answer you are looking for...
To those who believe in God no miracle is necessary;
to those who must disbelieve no miracle is sufficient.
Have a good day.

I do not mean to be insulting, but from the flood of material in your question, I rather feel that helping you would be like trying to aid a drowning man - in all the thrashing about, you might take us both down.
If you would like to address these issues ONE AT A TIME and sensibly work our way through each a step at a time, I can provide an adequate answer to each question you have posted above. If instead you wish to rant, then the correspondence will likely be fruitless. Drop me an email and let me know if you are interested.

You have really given this alot of thought. I have a suggestion: Why don't you pray to God and say, "God, if you are up there" show me a sign. Ask in faith, in honesty. I believe He will show you. Before I became a Christian(back in 1970), I used to woner alot what would happen to me when I died. Then my brother age 16 was killed in a car accident-not his fault. I knew, deep down, he went SOMEWHERE; I just didn't know where. Then my step brother became a Christian; he used to take drugs, sell drugs on the Sunset Strip in LA, CAlif.. Then my step father came to know the Lord; then my mom. Eight months later, I converted(I was very stubborn and rebellious). I haven't regretted one day. It hasn't been easy, but so rewarding..... Just my 2 cents worth...Hope this answer helps you.

You should probably do a lot more reasearch before you try to start naming contradictions.
1) the Bible clearly states that no one can ever seee God. The only person who even saw a part of God was Moses and he only saw God's back. The Bible states that no one can see God's face. So if you hear a Christian say that they "saw" God. .then they are clearly going against what the Bible says. Now, someone might see a vision of an angel or something related to God. .but never directly God. As for the talking to Him. .yeah. .uhh. . DUH we talk to Him. We believe in Him why wouldn't we talkt o Him. Just like you believe someone is on the other end of the telephone when you talk to them. .we talk to God.
2) God does exsist but we can't see Him. Our human minds cannot handle His glory his mighty form. It can't fit into our minds and we can't comprehend. (refer to what I just said above. .they are related).
3) Yes, God is everywhere and God is there for everyone and everywhere at all times. For us as indiviuals and for the whole world. I don't see your contradiction here?
4) You act as if God didn't know where they were. They tried to hide but God called out to them because of there wrongful actions. You act as if God went looking for them for hours like they were playing a long game of hide and seek. This just shows God's mercy and how He is slow to anger.
5) What's your question here? I don't get it? Yeah He can do whatever He wants but why would God lie or sin? That's stooping down to man's level and becoming un-perfect (is that a word) but God is clearly mentioned in the Bible has being perfect. He is who we should want to be. .so why would He fail or sin? I don't get your contradiction here sorry.
6) You said your self God is omnipresent and omniscient. God knows more than we could ever want to know. More than we could begin to understand. God has always been there. .that's just it.
7) refere to 6.
8) Once again I'm not really getting your contradiction? This makes no sense. God won't ever die becuase he is always there (hmm. .didn't we already cover this like 50 times?) God has theses feelings becuase He's living. . DUH!
9) This has nothing to do with God. This has a lot more to do with humans. We shouldn't blame our disagreeements on God.
For your last question "How do you think all these contradictions make for a believable deity?" none of them our contradictions. .you just wanted something to rant and agrue about and your ended up posting a question with NO solid research.
And as for our "vast knowledge" . .we aren't God so we don't have "vast knowledge" . . . nor do I think we have any more knowledge than you yourself could have if you tried to be open minded and not so arguementative. So in other words, stop being so immature.

i dont push myself into one religion. i have a name over my church, but it dosent mean i believe all the same things as everyone there. i read the whole bible and rightly divided it, thats how i know. you cant just pick out a few scriptures and make up silly questions. if you read it all maybe you would be able to answer your own questions, it all comes down to love and faith, these are the most important aspects of a religion i think. i will pray for you. love ya
