Do Catholics believe this is an honest sign from heaven, or do they want to distance themselves from this?

The owner actually had it tattooed on her!!!
It was on Miami Ink. It really looked like sh*t. The tattoo.

2) According to the Associated Press, the sandwich, which was bought on eBay by GoldenPalace.com [a casino site] in 2004, was on display in front of Miami Ink Tattoo Studio in Miami while Diana Duyser had the image from the sandwich tattooed near her heart.

Near her heart? Ouch!

3) "We all believe in certain things, OK, and this is what I believe in, and this is what I want near and close to my heart. She'll be there forever," she said.

Oh, whatever.

Grilled cheese + miracle + tattoo = eternal security. Fine.

As a Catholic I am not embarassed. However I regret that people see stories like this and think that all Catholics feel the same way.

Personally I don't think this is a sign from heaven. If such an event draws people closer to God, then that's good, right?

I think that some people are so desperate for God and for miracles that they read too much into things. This is a good example.

As a Catholic I find this a little embarrassing. About a year ago people started seeing Mary in a water stain under a bridge in Chicago.

Some people see Mary in their lunch, some people have the wounds of Christ, some people handle snakes, some people refuse to leave the house without their heads covered. It takes all kinds. As long as they are not shooting abortion doctors or protesting soldiers' funerals go right ahead.

I will not be embarrassed by anything that instills faith in people.

I, personally, to not believe there is anything supernatural about the Virgin Mary appearing on some grilled cheese sandwich.

Anything that instills faith in people, even a "phony" sighting of the Virgin Mary, should not be regarded as a bad thing.

No, not embarrassed.

Why distance yourself from others? Not very loving to do that.

On the other hand, I do not think this is a sign from heaven, either.

Geez, certain Christians embarrass me but not this one in particular.

The bible thumping, haters do far worse for our reputation.

Catholics are embarrassed that they have an old man in a dress running the multi billion dollar business they call a church.
