You cannot -- square feet is Area and cubic feet is Volume. But, if you have an Area (length x width) and you multiply by the depth -- you will now have a measurement of Volume.

You multiply by the depth or height of the area that you are interested in.

For example if you have a room that has an area of 100 square feet and that room is 8 foot high then its volume in cubic feet is 100x8 = 800 cubic feet.

hardly they have nothing in common. how would you convert a two-dimensional object into a three dimensional? area into volume? the question is irrelevant.

1ft x 1ft = 1 ft²
1ft x 1ft x 1ft = 1 ft³
Multiply ft² by and equal number of feet.
5ft² x 5ft = 5ft³ ...etc.
