I don't go to church. My place of worship is nature. Wouldn't that be a more logical choice? Being surrounded by what God created? I feel closer to God by the ocean or in the forest. And I also feel when I'm by myself worshiping him, I have a closer relationship with him. It keeps away form the bigotry and discrimination of most religions. What do you think? Don't you think that would make more sense?

And please don't clog up the answers with long Bible scriptures. It's annoying. lol

That is a great idea.

It makes more sense. And, if more people go to worship in nature, then people will work harder to protect our environment.

It is great to get out into nature and marvel at the world that God created. It is ok to worship there, However, the bible says to gather with other believers to encourage, study and grow in faith. One must be very careful to worship God the creator and not the creation. Paganism is worship of the creation and not God. The people of Israel tried that in the old testament and were punished severely. They made altars in the "High places" instead of in the temple where God had commanded them to do it. They thought it was good to go to the tallest mountain to be closer to God, but they were commiting idolatry. You should join a good bible teaching church and become involved in the ministry. Church is not only for being fed, but for being a blessing to the other members there. You can still get out alone in nature and be refreshed and get closer to God, but go to church as well.

Yes I believe worshipping by yourself is better. I do it too and also feel a closer connection to God. See, I believe church doesn't have to be in a building with a lot of people. Church is where you make it. And God created the planet so to me it's like the doors to the church are outside anywhere you choose. To feel a cool breeze on your face as you pray is quite relaxing. I am not saying organized church is bad but it's not for me.

Jesus told us that whenever two or more are gathered in his name, He will be with them.

If you restrict yourself to private worship, you are missing out on hte opportunity of seeing God in others. You do not get a full picture of God.

A place of worship should be in a place where people can come together and be comfortable. This can be a house, a barn, a church, a gymnasium, etc. The place should be large or small enough so that as many people as want to gather can be comfortable

I love nature as well. By all means worship God when your out in nature. I praise him when I look at the stars or a canyon or a beautiful mountain. He's creations are so amazing, we just can't help but stop and give him the credit for it. But, you need the fellowship of other Christians. Also you need the preaching of the word of God. It's the bread of life. It builds faith. The Bible tells that God uses preaching to save us.
Jesus went to the Synagogues regularly. We are to follow his example.

While finding God in nature is good and finding God in a beautifull sunset is good and true the main place to worship God is in the Church because that is his house. Jesus and his Apostles talk about the Church alot in the New Testament and it is the recommended place of worship. As for us Catholics, the Church is essential due to the fact that the blessed Eucharist is present there which is truly Jesus himself. You can pray to God and worship him anywhere, anytime and anyplace but the Church is the greatest place because it is sacred.

I think people need too choice what brings them closer to God for themselves.

I agree with you. When I am looking at a beautiful mountain or a beautiful plain I feel closer to God.

But sometimes when I feel lost...I need church...It always works out that at that moment, The pastor seems to be talking exactly about what I needed too hear...

My place of worship is also in nature. I see no reason to go worship in a building when I can be out in creation itself.

Blessed Be.

Nature is a wonderful place to pray and worship. But church is a must as well. A little of both is ideal.

There is nothing that could be the best place to worship God but in your heart which is not only close but already in you. IN that case you can be anywhere with Him.
