Looking for information on the occult.?

Astral projection, mysticism, channeling, mediums, etc.

Any ideas where I can go to learn about this stuff?

Okay, let me apologize for the use of the word "occult" I used that term because it is the one I hear and didn't really know of anything else to call the category. Thanks for the help guys.

I would advise caution astral projection, channeling, and mediums are a tool of the devil to gain access to your physical body.

We have the ability to be indwelt by that which is spiritual, God is a Spirit and must be worshiped in Spirit and in truth. Jesus died so that in accepting His substitutionary death for all mankind, He opened the way for our soul to dwell alongside the Holy God, thru the Holy Spirit. This is Gods design and we sould not look for other spiritual beings to indwell us thru channeling or mediums or astrial projection.

Books. There's some great books out there. You've asked a very general question, so it's hard to answer. If you want to know how to explore this stuff, I'd reccomend starting a firm foundation first, then exploring these other areas. A good foundation is explained in Israel Regardie's True Art of Healing. For general inforation, just look around. Just google whatever you're looking for.

Oh and I don't think its offensive to call it occult. Occult just means hidden knowledge. It is knowledge that is not neceassrily hidden delibrately by other people (in many cases, it was though, for fear of persecution), but ultimately, it means spiritual knowledge, the kind of knowledge that can't be learned in a book or from another person, but from spiritual practice. Only through fascist religions that label it all as *bad* and "satanic" did the word pick up a negative, sinister connotation. I still use the word because I know the true meaning. Try searching the online catalogue at your local library typing one of the following in to the keyword search; Occult, Witchcraft, Paganism, New Age, Wicca, it all aims to reach the same answers and has routes in a religous belief of some sort. The difference with most of these is that they are prepared to recognise other peoples right to choose, unlike many of the other factions. Anyway, to more specifics, Astral projection was once know as remote viewing in government circles and brought about the real stargate project in the USA (see Dale Grath). All the areas you ask about are I belive really under one catch all of psychic awareness, so maybe try the list I have referred to, I have included ISBN numbers for ref. There are many others around, these are just a few of the ones I have read. BB.

That's not really "occult." Most of it's modern New Age practices adapted from earlier occultic things. I'd call it "Occult Light."

Astral Projection- Check your local book store's "New Age," section.

Mysticism: Which kind? Eastern? Western? Traditional? Thelemetic? Christian? Buddhist? Hindu? Islamic?

Channeling: New Age books, again.

Mediums: New Age section.

as you said media are playing big part to overshadow this,and a free person should not fail to see why they do that,but also the "nature" of human beings and their limitations,and most of the time their stupidity! prevent humans to even comprehend such "realms" yet keys were always there,take for example religious books,also other sacred texts, nothing new about this,check some occult symbolism for another example,are often being used to gain such esoteric knowledge,the entire universe is upon you to feast upon,but most important thing is to be honest in ur occult path if u will lead that kind of life,but what was clear to me that even those who actually possessed a true occult knowledge are of inner type not outer,i mean they always lack or avoid the "practical" jobs,as they think its not "necessary" also i should speak no more about this specially but seek and never give up,and understand eventually if u were honest u will experience the "theophany" then nobody can explain it in a rational way,as things after that,will enter the stage of "faith" & ur alone

I think what you're looking for is metaphysical books. My brother buys a lot of this stuff from a store in pasadena, calif.
They have books about astral projection and channeling etc.

Go into on occult store and look for books by "Ophelia." Her books are actually separated into topics like the ones you have listed.

Mediums can be found at a Spiritualist Church.

Try googling, and don't call this stuff the occult. Go to the library! Please dont's call this the occult, its very offensive to people who practice it.
