Strictly speaking, yes. They plainly prefer an OT version of God...one who smites anyone he doesn't like with arbitrary misfortunes. They even have Biblical backing for their idiocy.
That said, they are led by a man who I suspect is not only an undiagnosed sociopath, but possibly a closet homosexual as well (Considering the way he harps on the subject relentlessly...Ted Haggard anyone?)

A Christian follows the example Jesus set for us, as stated in 1 Peter 2:21 - "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps."
Also we read in John 13:15 - "For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you."
Are they doing this?

Anyone who professes to follow the teachings of Jesus is Christian. Whether their interpretation matches what the Bible and 2000 years of tradition actually say is entirely different.
So yes. But I think they're vile and they clearly ignore any of the important teachings.

Yes.
Bad Christians? Probably yes to that, too.

They are nuts. I wouldn't insult anyone by categorizing them with someone else (and I am not Christian).
Christianity is just the tool of their insanity.
