YA!, most especially the R&S is totally useless for "honestly seek(ing) to learn and understand". But it is entertaining. But not as entertaining as my dance and shamisen song!! More sake?

Both... I come to learn, because I have a desire to learn as much as I possibly can... and learning can be found in many different formats... books, lectures, videos, personal experiences, group discussions and even places like this! Sometimes you have to wade through the arrogance and BS... but if you look, there is at times some really educational information posted I have found!
Do I want to share my beliefs with others? Yes, but I don't want to force my beliefs on others... and often when I post I state that I am not ASKING anyone to believe as I do, but just sharing my views and opinions.
I think that real tolerance comes from understanding... and to understand we need to discover and be come educated in what it is we are intolerant of or do not understand.
I also think that what many seem to not grasp is that tolerance does not mean you ACCEPT someone elses views or beliefs as your own... it simply means you ACCEPT that the other person has as much a right as YOU do to believe what he or she so chooses to believe.

I'm not sure I can understand some of the others beliefs. I did have a fun debate with one of my questions last night however.
I come to give answers mostly which of course would be telling my own beliefs. I hope thats okay with you. I mean thats what this place is right Yahoo answers?

I should hope this is a forum for people to openly and intelligently talk about their thoughts and ideas. I often do not agree with every one, and likewise others disagree with me.
It is the agreements and disagrements, that helps me to learn what is up in my country. For example what younger life is up to in this country. What their belief system is and what the Gex X vision is for the future. I want to know that I can count on a group of intelligent, savy, and moral individuals, to take over this country when those of us baby boomers are to old to do so.
My opinion so far is a lot of you are, and a lot more of you are not. Yahoo A/A is a gerat place for discussion of all sorts of things, with an occasional pin heads now and then. I live in the central valley of California, I don't like news papers so I believe I get a more candid look at the way this country responds to all sorts of ideas, ideologies, and situations of the day from sea to shining sea. And I get to tell you all what I think as well.
Keep it up you yahooligans!!! As Always God Bless

I come to learn about others and hopefully make some new acquaintences. And also hopefully help someone else that may need help. I'm not trying to "force" my beliefs on anyone. I believe it's everyone's choice. I"ll gladly answer questions about my faith and my religion but I believe each one has the right to make their choice whether I agree with it or not. I certainly don't agree with those who come in here to cause trouble or who as crazy questions but I can't stop them from doing that so I just pray for them and move on.

To be heard and to hear.
When I answer questions, I do so to express my personal opinions and seeking to be of help to others. In the process, I also learn from others. That's really interesting!

I come on here to practice my writing style...lol. Also to formulate my own thoughts. But obviously, due to the format of Q&A, this involves bouncing around other people's opinions and deciding what makes sense. I can honestly say that I've read some responses from other people that have given me food for thought, even when I vehemently disagree.

Whether I agree with other's beliefs or not, I do like to learn about them and understand them better.
I also like to try and explain my beliefs to others, because I feel like people have a very negative view of all Christians and we are all not alike.

I occasionally ask questions out of a desire to learn. But when I answer, I'm assuming they want my opinion. And even then, I sometimes learn something from someone else's answer.
But mostly I'm here for the entertainment value.
