I have been in the navy for 5 years come june. i am about to recive a military administration separation discharge. i want to know with this admin separation what are my benfits and what benfits do i lose. can i still get a goverment job? the reason i am getting one is bc i cant pass the run part of the prt. i am not over weight or anything like that. please answer only if you really have some information like a web link or you are or were in the military thank you

It doesn't look good, but it is not a killer like a dishonorable or an other than honorable. You can still get a government job, but I don't think you get the point preference for veterans since you didn't get an honorable discharge, though you need to check with legal or admin on that. You will not be able to go to the reserves either. Check out www.va.gov for a complete list of veterans programs and the eligibility requirements. You should still retain your GI bill since you paid into it, and also you subsidized home loan since you have already served the time necessary to earn it.

An Admin discharge falls under the conditions of a General Discharge. Not the best, and not the worst. Most likely a General under honorable conditions. You shouldn't lose any benefits, but on the same token, I don't think that you will be eligible for "bonus" points, such as a veterans preference.
