It is actually not always necessary to get them removed. But for most people it is. The dentist or another person like a oral surgeon may remove them because they are trained in that sort of stuff. Most of the time the wisdom teeth or tooth get impacted and need to come out. The wisdom teeth may shift your teeth if they are not removed that makes years of braces wasted or if you just have straight teeth you'll need braces. That is why you should ask a dentist or orthodontist if your wisdom teeth will need to come out.

DZE, will it count number what we are saying? We did no longer evolve into dentists. There are 2 available the clarification why the know-how teeth are turning out to be vestigial. the 1st is that the human jaw has become smaller than its ancestors' and the know-how teeth are attempting to alter right into a jaw that's a lot too small. the 2nd reason could could desire to do with dental hygiene. some thousand years in the past, it could desire to be elementary for an 18 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous guy to have lost quite a few, probable maximum, of his teeth, and the incoming know-how teeth could teach functional. Now that human beings brush their teeth two times an afternoon, that's available to maintain one's teeth for a life-time. the disadvantage is that the know-how teeth nevertheless prefer to come returned in, and while they do, they often could desire to be extracted to keep away from any intense discomfort.

It rarely is, but it's just popular to do. I think this will go the way of tonsils and such once enough people have had enough. Every single adult I know whose parent refused to remove the wisdom teeth have no problems once they were in. Mine were removed before my parents got wise to this. Since then, a sister has had them removed soley due to problems of TMJ caused by a car accident.

As my grandmother tried to point out to my parents earlier, it's amazing how many folks prior to health insurance didn't have them out and had NO PROBLEMS. It's just a ripoff. Unfortunately, one even has to be suspect of a 2nd opinion since two generations of dentists have been taught that wisdom teeth are unnecessary and should be removed.

Most people are born with mouths that are too small for all the teeth. It is evolution in action. Thousands of years ago, we needed them to rip and tear and chew the tough meat we had to survive on. Over time, what we eat has gotten so much better, we no longer need those flesh ripping wisdom teeth, and in many cases, they push our other teeth out of place if you don't get them out soon enough,

They are only removed if necessary. Reasons may include: overcrowding in the mouth, teeth growing in sideways/impacted, or infected/cavaties.
I had one tooth growing in sideways and I had them all removed since I didn't want to go through it again. I had a terrible recovery. My sister had hers removed and was up gardening 15 minutes later. Watch for infection after the surgery. Be sure to keep up with changing your padding.

Because some people are way too smart for their own good and this is the only humane way to bring them down to the rest of society's level. Just kidding, I had mine out because they were actually coming in sideways to my last set of molars, so they'd have knocked out my whole tooth alignment if I hadn't done it. If you're facing this surgery, I'm sure you could get a lot of helpful suggestions on here from people (like me) who've gone through it already.

in my case it was because my jaw was too short for those new teeth to fit into my mouth. It was extremely painful- all of them were impacted- jammed against the molars I already had. Genetics mostly determine whether they have to come out- Some people's come in w/ no trouble.

It can cause overcrowding, making your teeth overlap. Or if it is impacted (growing sideways) orcausing pain. Like jaw, ear, and head aches. Mines were impacted and causing pain. It disappeared as soon as I had them removed.
