They're both very pretty. I think you should think about what type of wedding you are having because they give off different vibes to me. The first one is more of an old world / renaissance romantic dress and the second one is more modern romance. They're both pretty. I bet you'll know which one is "the one" when you try them on... they always look different when you're wearing them, so the decision will be easier.

You said that you're having a simple backyard lunch party. Is that it, or are you having a ceremony and then the backyard lunch party as a reception? If you're having a ceremony, then I don't see why not. You can change into something simpler for the reception. A year ago, I would have rolled my eyes and said it's just a dress you'll wear for one afternoon, big deal. But now that I'm getting married, I totally understand why you want to have the big white dress!

The first one all the way. The second one is nice but that shape can turn into something wierd, ya know?
Also, keep in mind, your body type may not fit with that kind of dress. I didn't want anything poofy for my dress either so I first tried dresses like this and soon realized I had to change my tactic. You just need to try everything on.
Good luck-I'm sure you'll be beautiful either way!

I love the second one. Its beautiful. Its still gives that wedding gown look without the big puffy skirt. Personally, I love love love the big puffy skirts, the puffier the better, but I didnt have such a puffy one at my wedding because I used a replica of my mom's wedding dress and hers was an A line. But I would have had a skirt at least like this:

But waaaaaaayyyyy bigger!!!

just remember that the pictures may look different as to what they look like on, or you may not be able to find it easily. a lot of dress companies do not carry full designer lines. if you are tall and lean both would probably look good on you. first one looks really formal and elegant, the second a little more casual. no matter what you decide, enjoy your day.

The first one is absolutly stunning. It really depends on your body type as to if you can wear a dress like this. My body would need the second dress. It would be more forgiving to certain areas being heavier than other by "hiding" them under the layers.

The first one is stunning the second looking at the posture indicates that this dress does not do much for the hips... she does not have any and it makes her look big the first one will be awesome

Hi, I like both of your choices. I can understand that poofy dresses are not for everyone(including me) The empire waist concept is a good choice for someone who doesn't want all that poof. The important thing to remember is that it is YOUR choice. Select the dress you love!!!

I absolutely love the first one. However, you should find a store that sells these and try them on. They always look different on. I have loved dresses online and have hated them once I had them on. Good luck and best wishes!

I like the first one, the 2nd one is pretty but I'm not keen on the "ra ra" look of the skirt, it's a bit too layered, like you have been wrapped round and round in material.
