We had a mother bird make a nest in our wreath right by our back door a few days ago. There were 5 eggs in there. All the sudden the mother and the eggs are gone. We know they didn't hatch so did she move them?

Depending on the type of bird, they can move their eggs.

Blackbirds can move their eggs, if they are small enough they can clutch them with their claws, or they may roll them to a nearby hedge, also blackbird eggs are blue, so it depends entirely on the bird.

I have the same question, only that the nest is still here.
I wonder if the mother bird moved her eggs in a new location, since there was a lot of traffic through her nest. It is in the wreath near our front door.

I will say not. Sometimes a bigger bird may eat the eggs or an animal. Usually when this happen the mother will leave that nest and build somewhere else and try again. This just my opinion.

i think it would be hard to move the eggs the way their feet are made. i hate to sound so negative but maybe the nest blew away or if you hve a cat it just had breakfast. the mother bird can always make a new nest but with talons for food those eggs would be difficult to move.

No, birds cannot move their eggs. A predator got to them...this is rather common. The adults will build a nest elsewhere and try again.

that's certainly extremely atypical because of the fact birds can not smell, so that's in no way from you "putting your fragrance on them." that's attainable the mummy observed a disturbance, and have been given discouraged (if it extremely is her first year). So, the eggs might desire to nonetheless be alive - yet no longer for long so hurrrrrry! you may desire to get the eggs into an incubator ASAP. The temperature might desire to be maintained at apx ninety 8.6 - ninety 9.5°F and placed a cup of water in the incubator to advance the humidity. next, touch a close-by organic international rehabilitator which could have the skill to look after the chicks while they are born. stable success - pass get those eggs! :)

I've never heard of such a thing but what i do know is that mother birds will either destroy the eggs if they feel threatened or push them out of the nest..... i only know this because of my birds....they had babies and they pushed them out of the nest once i found them....... hope this helps..

umm...something probably ate them....cuz if they hatched, there would have been babies in there, and it takes about a month for them to get fully feathered and out of the nest...
