A Grand Jury simply determines if there is (or is not) enough evidence to bind a suspect over for trial. If the Grand Jury determines that there is, indeed, enough evidence, the case is heard before a regular jury of twelve peers. As always, there is the option for the suspect to plead guilty, or Nolo Contendere (no contest), or to plea-bargain, at which point the trial goes to the sentencing phase. Hope that this helps.

im going though something like that right now but mine is assualt.. i first have a pretrail to go to . if i pleas quilty my next court heraing will be in front of a jury if the find me quilty the judge will senctence me right there and i will serve jail time ..

Then it is up for plea, guilty or not, and a likley trial date is set if pleads not guilty, and a hearing date is set if pleads guilty.
