Are you honest w/ your bf, husband, gf or wife about how many people you have slept with? If not, are you ashamed or you just don't feel the need to give that number?

Depends on how many people you have slept with?
If your partner is the REAL ONE FOR YOU, you should be ABLE TO TELL HIM ANYTHING and i for one dont judge people by how many sexual partners they have had, however a lot of people do!!!
If you think he will think differently of you i.e (slut or has no self respect) and you really like him then l would lie. If it was the other way round and a man had lots of sexual partners MOST girls would think that the chance of a long term relationship/commitment was very slim!!

I don't regard this issue as public information...nor do I regard it as within the domain of necessary information for the relationship. Of what use is this? So you know how many...so? Would you want the details of each and why? To what purpose? Personally...I don't care how many came before me...no pun intended...as long as I am the last.
This information is never put to good use within a relationship...so as much as your partner may ask for it...do not give it...just politiely say...it is not important..I am with you..and I love you--I choose you. If they persist...be suspicious as to what their motives may be...I suspect it is something immature.

It's a poor topic to discuss imo. I wouldn't lie because I didn't keep count, and I do not care how many people my s.o. may have slept with, as long as he's capable of being in a monogamous relationship and being faithful. I'll discuss experiences and likes/dislikes but anyone who wants to know a # is showing that they are insecure, wanting to be judgemental, or both.
It shouldn't matter if a person has had sex with one partner 100 times, or 100 partners one time. Either way, they've had 100 sexual experiences, right? As long as they are disease free when they get to you, and the chemistry/attraction is there, why does "how many" matter?

for the most part yes, I am honest with him but if it's something i know he cant handle I wont tell him. For example if an ex calls out of the blue...it doesn't benefit either of us for me to tell. If he asks i will tell but if not then as far as I'm concerned it didn't happen. I love him and I would never do anything to disrespect our relationship.

I've always been honest about it. No point in lying about the past! Besides, if I lied about something like THAT and he found out, I wouldn't blame him for not trusting me when it comes to the big stuff.

That's how we started our relationship by being honest. and if we couldn't take the heat then we knew we couldn't be with each other but I was not ashamed in saying that to my partner.

I honest about everything. There's no reason to lie about it, sexual experimentation is good. With out it then you would never really know what it is you like and may stuck in a relationship with sex that is boring. I was in a relationship with boring sex, it makes the relationship suffer.

i was very honest with my bf about the people i have slept with.
in order to know whether or not a person is "safe" to be with, the total number of partners should be discussed.
