I don't believe being gay is a choice and I am Christian, so you should not generalize.

It's not only the compelling research done on the subject over the past 70 years or so and the recent findings on hormonal effects on fetuses in the womb that tells me it is not a choice. It is not even the fact that there are gay people in places like Iran or Jamaica where they are tortured and killed for being gay that convinces me it is not some frivilous, "lifestyle choice" like deciding to take up ceramics or salsa dancing.

What convinces me that sexual orientation is NOT a choice is that as a straight woman I could NEVER choose to be a lesbian.

Even if you held a gun to my head, I could never bring myself to have sexual attraction for another woman. If I did not choose to be straight and it just HAPPENED that way. I can FULLY understand and FULLY believe when gay people tell me, they cannot help not having sexual attractions for the opposite sex just as I cannot help not having it for the same sex.

You might not have chosen to have the desire to be with men, that was a temptation of the enemy and is by no means your fault. However, you did choose to give into those desires despite what God said about them...you chose to have sex with a man, you chose to have a relationship with a man...that was a CHOICE. Why do I not chose gayness? 1. Because I am married and love my husband, 2. Because I know that God did not create gayness because it is unnatural, and 3. The Bible says it is wrong and that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God. I can admire a woman for her beauty, but I have no desire to be intimate with her.

Um...because gayness is not a choice. And quite a few Christians already "chose" it. Happens quite a bit in the Catholic church.

Okay, you know what to do, thumbs me down now! tic tic tic c'mon times a wastin!

cause they chose to be Christians, its a choice they made to follow Christ and not men or movements of the world. they chose Christ, and with that comes persecution at times, but it is a very rewarding life and Christ payed for the price of admission in this club, and all that repent are welcome to join.maybe you will join us in Christs movement, and reject the empty promises of the homosexual movement. if you do this bold step,,, i know you will find true peace and happiness in this life and the next.good talking 2 u and God bless

No-one chooses homosexuality or heterosexuality. Sexual orientation is formed through early childhood experiences, and is beyond our control. However, behavior is not beyond our control, and God has made it clear what kinds of behavior are acceptable to Him, and what kinds of behavior will result in loss of eternal life. This is true for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation.

Many of us choose other sins, our sin is no worse or better than yours. We just choose not to say it's life style or that it's not sin.

I struggle against sin all to often, I try not to sin but I continue to do what I know is sin. I guess where we differ is in the struggle, if you say it's not sin then you are giving yourself over to sin instead of fighting it. I am not sure you can do that and be a Christian.

Good luck with your struggle.

God Bless

Many Christians say that homosexuality is a choice. I'm gay, and I've never chosen to be this way. I'm happy with who I am :-)

They're wrong. I have yet to meet a homosexual individual who just "decided" one day that they were going to be homosexual.

Seriously, do Christians somehow imagine that homosexual sex is so mind-blowing that people are willing to endure gay-bashing, assault, expulsion, and even death for it? Talk about provincial!

I'm a Christian, and I've consistently said the orientation is NOT a choice.

Because they're not nasty perverts like you and if you were to read the bible maybe you would then know that being gay is a sin. So you better figure something out buddy before you end up burning in hell for eternity. And NO, you are not born with the whole gay thing already in you, you become it with your own will! GET A LIFE SICKO PERVERT!!!!!
