Larger dogs sometimes won't go into heat until between 1 to 2 years old. Even some giant breeds like great Danes can wait till over 2 before they go . Another thing is she could have had a silent heat , which is just a heat period that goes unnoticed because of lack of outward signs. In any case if you are not going to breed her it is better to get her fixed before her first heat.
