it has been a few weeks since i got my tongue pierced and the barbell is too long so i want to change it. however, when i tried to unscrew the top and bottom balls they are STUCK! like i tried so hard and for so long that my fingertips hurt for 24 hours at least. i also tried needle nosed piercing pliers... no luck. i live like 45 minutes from a piercer i trust and 2 1/2 hours from the person who did it, so going to a piercer is really not an option.

and experience with this? ideas? im going nuts. oh and BTW im turning it to the left.

Yikes. I would drive the 45 mintues to have them undo the barbell and put the new one in. It might save you a trip to the ER! Seriously. They could have striped the threads putting it on.. and who knows what happenes. This is your body we are talking about.. dont skimp out on anything. AND STOP STICKING PLIERS IN YOUR MOUTH! You are going to do more damage than anything else!!

thank you for pointing out that your turning it to the left! LOL! you say you live an hour from a piecist you TRUST, but aren't there any that are closer? you don't really need to "trust" someone to twist a ball! It's not like taking it out requires a whole new piercing or anything! Otherwise, I'm sure you know someone who has a pierced tongue, and they might be able to help you.
Also- you might want to wait a little bit longer. it's only been a few weeks...

you need to have the jewelry changed by a pro. It needs to be sterile jewelry, since you've only had it a few weeks. Jewelry needs to be downsized, usually after two weeks. Go to a local shop, buy some jewelry off them and get them to do the swap. At this point, leaving jewerly out, even for a minute or two for changing it, will likely see some shrinkage in the hole. Tongues heal amazingly fast.

Whenever my tongue rings get stuck I use like a paper towel or piece of cloth to unscrew with it drys up the saliva on it so you get a tighter grip but if that doesnt work then you will have to go to the piercer
