Do priests become Christians so that they can molest little boys?

Did Haggard become a Christian so he could have sex with male prostitutes?

Did Jimmy Swaggard become a Christian so hookers could get him off?

For every alcoholic atheist, I can show you 100 Christian alcoholics. That's just the way statistics work. Also, it's a common fallacy (employed by many Christians) to attack some characteristic of a person in order to try and discredit their argument. But only the most foolish of minds buy into it.

But if he could ask for forgiveness and have the slate wiped clean, why would he need to reject everything altogether?

Um...believe it not being a drunkard isn't really welcomed in any religion, not just Christianity. Its not healthy. So no its not a good excuse. Maybe *gasp* he really didn't believe.

Religion is the one who sets the bars for its followers. If people were calling themselves religious and were being drunk jerks, he had every right to call them on it. He didn't have to live up to those standards.....they did by their own choice.
