I absolutely agree.
judging by the lib feedback(personal attacks) I'd say you hit the bullseye.
The libs can't accept something(religion) being more important than their own wah-baby feelings.

Well it seems to me that the majority if not all of the previous answers agree that list does not describe modern Liberalism. I would have a hard time finding a Liberal that does not fit somewhere on that list.

The list contains 10 specific items that make up a Liberal Postmodern Worldview about that there can be no argument. Given that a Postmodern Worldview is anathema to a Christian Worldview it describes the differences rather well. I don’t view the list as all items pertaining to all Liberals, rather it describes different positions Liberals take on given issues.

Can a Christian be a liberal? Short answer: no. There is no way a Christian can buy into neo-liberal ideology and be faithful to the bigger-than-Dallas teachings of the scripture and expect to continue enjoying his hard-won religious liberties.

For the "Christian" to lean politically to the left means that he must blow off huge chunks of the Bible and replace scripture with the make-believe notions of postmodernisms malleable "Christ." Only after torturing the scripture can the Christian then fit liberalism into his supposed relationship with God.

For the Christian who believes that unfeigned faith in Christ should correspond with Jesus’ high view of scripture, it is now impossible to believe in God and be an adherent to postmodern liberalism.

In the final analysis one may be a Liberal or one may be a Christian but one cannot be both. Christianity is absolute and if you only show one of the traits above you are Liberal. Christianity is also elitist in that it is the only way to redemption from sin and eternal Salvation. For those of you above who stated that you are Liberal and Christian or Christians that accept the Liberal view point, I am sorry to be the one to tell you that you cannot have it both ways.

NOTE: I though it hilarious that one person above stated in answer to the first item on the list;

“Possibly, but unlikely as the liberals mentioned really just believe in a different absolute truth.”

1st: obviously, you are a Christian. Stop spreading hate. I believe, that the liberals you mention are not mistaken in all things, and may have some good ideas. Now as to your "List"

"1) Liberals are relativists and hate Christians because Christians believe in absolute truth."

Possibly, but unlikely as the liberals mentioned really just believe in a different absolute truth.

"2) Liberals do not want anyone to say that immorality is immoral."

Ok this seems to be a crock to me. They admit the presence of immorality, but relegate it to different transgressions than Christians.

"3) Liberals are selfish and are more interested in their “feelings” then they are with what is right for others."

Uhm...No. I believe that most liberals beleive that what they are trying to acheive will make the world a better place.

"4) Liberals misunderstand what Christians really believe."

Ok, which Christians? Despite the fact that we are all of the same body of Christ our views do differ. Also, some liberals are Christians, the terms are not mutually exclusive.

"5) Since liberals see themselves as the superior enlighten ones they do not recognize that taking a position against their position is not automatically hate."

Unfortunately, the same can be said of most Christians.

"6) Liberals do not want to listen to what makes sense, they would rather listen to their senses."

Boy now that is showing ignorance in action. What makes sense to me may seem totally stupid to another.

"7) Liberals ignore the clear evidence of the result of their philosophical positions influence on the last 40 years. It had been a social disaster and they do not want to hear it."

I am in a 50/50 agreement here, some of the liberals agenda has proven to be good, some not.

"8) They see Christians as intellectually inferior."

Well, the loudest ones seem to have that conclusion, but in general I would say no.

"9) Liberals see Christians as wanting to impose their religion on them when in truth it is the liberals who have used the courts system to impose their secular humanism religion on all of us."

Hmmm, again I guess 50/50 is the answer. While I see a problem with courts throwing out religion entirely, and prohibiting its practice in governmental settings, I believe the Founding Fathers wanted us to have a society where you could practice ANY religion without fear of government reprisal.

"10) Liberals are spiritually lost and blind to the truth of the gospel."

That would have to be judged on an individual basis, not as a group. I know a few "Christians" who appear to be spiritually lost.

Being a Christian and with the conversations that I have had with Libs, the article is right on the money. Over the years I've been told that I'm ignorant, unintelligent, have a closed mind, that right and wrong are relative, I'm a bad mother because I have strict rules for my kids, that I need to take a walk on the wild side, along with many other things.

First of all, I am Christian and I find this entire spiel very narrow-minded and a poor reflection on the minds of those that came up with it. You forget that not all Christians are right wing, religious fundamentalists who feel "entitled" in America to having a "Christian" State. The VAST majority of us are fair-minded and we are also not treasonous to the democratic values of this great country.

Let me address your responses one by one.

1) Liberals are relativists and hate Christians because Christians believe in absolute truth.

Do I believe in the truth about Jesus Christ? Yes! Do I believe that I must impose my religion on others in ALL aspects of public life. NO! I am an American and a patriot. I respect Separation of Church and State and no goverment is going to DICTATE what form of faith I and my fellow Americans need follow.

2) Liberals do not want anyone to say that immorality is immoral.

I will proudly declare something is immoral. But I will also keep in mind that I am not the judge of man. God is. I will look to MYSELF first and my own life and ensure I have ZERO beams in MY eye before I attempt to pull out a spec in someone elses.

3) Liberals are selfish and are more interested in their “feelings” then they are with what is right for others.

Compassion, respect, understanding and tolerance are feelings I believe are Christ-like.

4) Liberals misunderstand what Christians really believe.

It seems certain Christians misunderstand what it actually means to be Christian.

5) Since liberals see themselves as the superior enlighten ones they do not recognize that taking a position against their position is not automatically hate.

There are fundamentalists on all sides and you and I BOTH know that OUR Christian side is VERY culpable of hate and intolerance as well.

6) Liberals do not want to listen to what makes sense, they would rather listen to their senses.

This is a vast generalization and equally true of certain Christians who listen to a sense of fear about everything and everyone different from them.

7) Liberals ignore the clear evidence of the result of their philosophical positions influence on the last 40 years. It had been a social disaster and they do not want to hear it.

Oh and extreme right winged, Theocratic governments have been a ROARING success as well huh?

I believe in a moderate middle ground of secular democracy where ALL are allowed freedom of religion. Remember the Treaty of Tripoly 1797 ratified by US Senate and Signed by the President of the United States John Adams.
Article 11, reads:

"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion"

I am a patriot. Are you? Or are you a religious extremist who wants to deny Liberty and Justice for ALL?

8) They see Christians as intellectually inferior.

There are idiots on every side and Christians are not helping things when we make idiotic comments like, "If humans came from monkeys why are there still monkeys?"

9) Liberals see Christians as wanting to impose their religion on them when in truth it is the liberals who have used the courts system to impose their secular humanism religion on all of us.

There you go, making ALL Chrisitans look idiotic. Our founding fathers meant for our government to be a secular democracy. It is BEST for ALL if we are.

10) Liberals are spiritually lost and blind to the truth of the gospel. Consider the following bible verses:
“But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” - 1 Corinthians 2:14

If you ever hope to bring Christ into someone's life and show them the truth of God's love and salvation, you won't with THAT attitude. I wonder how many people you have stumbled away from the truth? We are urged in Romans 12:18 to try to "live peaceably with all men." not spread divisions and 'Let everyman be fully persuaded in his OWN mind" in Romans 14:5 and NEVER to judge other and cause them to stumble as a result in Romans 14:15.

You have demonstrated just the opposite.

I don't agree with that. I'm a total Conservative Republican, but you're putting all these people in a box that's too small. Only a few like Ted Kennedy and Hilary Clinton belong in there. Don't generalize....because you will cause others to generalize about YOU and anyone similar to you.

in a Soviet encyclopedic dictionary, I read: ". . . Karl Marx called communism 'real humanism.' Humanism received practical realization in the achievements of socialism, that pronounced as its principle "All for the sake of man, for the good of man."

socialism, communism, secular humanism, liberalism, pretty much all godless belief systems.

Well - I do not know whether you are a Christian or just posing as one - but I do know questions like yours bring shame and derision on good Christians that get associated with it.

This question and others like it are why Christians are looked down on and made fun of, They do not mistake what Christians believe in if they are being fed questions like this that amply demonstrate intellectual inferiority.

All you are doing is driving people from the church, putting people off hearing God's word and being very, very unchristian.

For those of you who read questions and answers such as this persons - please be aware that there are good Christians out there that believe in a loving, tolerant, inclusive and forgiving God.

Dr. Berman or whoever really does not know what he's talking about.

I'm liberal. I'm pagan. And oh yeah, I don't hate Christians. Liberals are relativists. Do you even know what that means? It means that any religion is right if it is right for you. Thats the gist of it. Sure, many relativists may dislike the fact that many Christians are absolutists, but I think real relativists would not make them hate Christians.
