yesterday while I was at work a female co-worker came to me to voice her disappointment in our manager, she began to tear and excused herself for a brief moment, I assured her if she needed help to let me know, I then went and got her some water, a small snack and some tissues, after that she completly avoided me for the rest of the day, did I do something wrong with my actions?

No, you did nothing wrong. I believe that she was probably embarrassed over her tears...

Perhaps you stepped over the line a bit. Some tissues or water would have been sufficient. I assume you're not friends on any level aside from working together.
Perhaps she was over whelmed with the attention and is afraid of what your motives might be(even if they were simply of a compassionate nature)
You might want to appologize about overstepping the bounds if she feels you did.
I'd have likes a coworker to have that much care for my feelings. So don't let this stop you from being a caring individual just learn to be more cautious.

NO! You were not wrong. Actually, you were quite sweet - going above and beyond like that to make her calm down.
I'm not sure why she avoided you for the rest of the day. I don't know how well you know her, but perhaps she was a bit embarrassed about showing her emotions to you like that in the work place. Or maybe she was worried that you might relay her unhappiness to your boss.
People are funny like that. Just ask her if you did something to offend her. I'm sure everything is fine, though.

you sound like a nice guy, but at the same time a professional world is different then a out of work world. I don't think you did anything wrong, just don't let yourself get caught up in the drama. She just might of had a bad day. Or she does not know how to process all of it and does not want you get get involved. Sounds like she just needed you to listen so that she could get it off her chest.

most likely she is feeling a little uncomfortable. Its not you, its her own feelings and I think she was looking into it the wrong way. Just go about your normal everyday motions - even around her.
Good luck

Not at all - she is just embarrassed that she showed you weakness. You did the right thing!
